  • Front License Plate Location Imagined Again Today

Front license plate imagined. First done by fvs a while back, and below two new Chazcron renderings, helping us further imagine how the front license plate might look on the C8.

What are your thoughts on this interpretation, with the inner part echoing the shapes that appear elsewhere on the car? Here it is with and without a scale-guessed license plate.
For the 30 states that still require a front plate, t would be so nice if the front license plate were to be tucked in as far as Chazcron has shown us.

I live in a state where front plates are mandatory especially if its a daily driver...otherwise while parked the tickets keep coming...

looking forward to the photo to show where the front plate is imagined.

Some states are way more rigorous about front state plate requirement enforcement. Some have strict height limitations, others stating that it must be at the front of the vehicles, others just that it must be clearly visible from the front of the car. As always, different enforcement by different jurisdictions within a state. I am a front plate required state and manny of my friends put it inside the car mounted against the windshield (most at the bottom center, some as the extreme bottom right, some at the top right corner).

I went with this set up for ours.

We actually have a state budget surplus (and a reserve fund too), but now I'm braggin'. Oh, we don't have vehicle inspections either.

Still, the envisioned placement of the front plate on the C8 looks better than that of the C7 - hopefully the plate is easily removed for track days, to improve cooling.

What a great looking front view!

I like where Chaz put the plate, but I'd bet that is too far inset. My plate mount is similar to yours John, Click image for larger version

ID:	23172 it mounts between the lower lip spoiler and the bumper cover, but it is V shaped which makes the plate conform to it.

I doubt a LEO or parking enforcement offer would write one up if recessed that amount — as long as all other parts of the LP display law were met. At least I hope not.

Texas requires a front license plate but enforcement is very 'spotty' at best. I absolutely refuse to hang one on any of my cars. The chief in our small town between Fort Worth and Dallas says they only use the lack of a front plate for 'probable cause' stops. Otherwise, he says, our officers have better things to do with their time. I sure don't intend to hang one on the C8!

The plate in the Chazcron renders looks too small to me.

Virginia requires a plate, but I've mostly run without mine since last April. Haven't been hassled once. I'm glad the cops around here have better things to do with their time.

I do have it on a detachable mount, in the trunk, so if I get stopped I'll try "Oh, I'm sorry officer. I took it off at a car show last weekend and forgot to put it back on. I'll do that right now!"

They don’t have them on race cars, so fine with none on street cars...

The plate on the red rendering looks like the right size. I too think the one on the blue rendering is too small.... wishful thinking that it can be buried in the grill.

Just glad I live in a state with no front plate requirement.

But then again, they don't have speed traps on racetracks.

Oh, wait, I got "pulled over" for going too fast on the Indy Speedway at Bloomington Gold last year, so scratch that......

Meyerweb ... lucky you!! I'm not sure where you live in the old dominion, I'm in VAB and don't have a problem here, but I unfortunately drive thru the Richmond area often, and have been stopped numerous times there. Maybe because it's the capital, but what a PITB. I've given up and put the plate on my DD.
