Z06 Potential Patents

As we get ready for the Z06’s debut sometime in the next year, IMO time to brush up on the 23 GM C8 patents — many of which are Z06 potentials: https://www.midenginecorvetteforum.c...alized-patents

I did the Spring Mountain school 3/8-3/9 and asked every instructor I could tackle if they have experienced a whine in the transmission of any of their C8s. Not one of them said they had heard it, even though some of them drive C8s to work and back. As for the C8 I drove, I couldn’t hear much because I was always wearing a helmet.

I will pursue my issue with the local dealer and then up the ladder, if necessary.

Hi Sabre, it’s a coupe, Z51, mag ride.

improviz, You hear this with your windows closed and top on? Sounds like everything is closed up. What is your build? I know you have a z51, but do you have a COUPE or HTC? MAG RIDE? I know that sounds silly, however, MAG ride completes the PTM ... maybe there are different messages being exchanged.
You crossed 500 miles on the new DCT?
I have a trip planned for tomorrow though I am only at 120 miles.

Yes, as mentioned on the other site, it has developed a very slight whine above 50 mph in the last 100 miles or so. I just crossed 500 miles, but I'm still gonna granny-drive it for a few hundred more to give it all the time in the world to break in gently. Right now it's very slight, but it has gotten more noticeable as I accrue miles (deja vu), so let's see how it does over the next few hundred miles. Keeping fingers crossed.

Thanks! Oh, I just bypassed original service manager, went up the chain a bit in the dealership and also got a GM social media rep who posted on the corvetteforum.com involved, though not really sure if she accomplished much of anything. Just kept my cool and presented facts, also made point that if differential failed at some future point it could cause an accident. Anyway, sometimes you've gotta go up the chain a bit to get things done, glad they came through for me.

This topic has been on my back burner list for a while. This is GREAT news improviz. Way to persevere and come to a great resolution. I continue to do most of my break in driving with no sound distractions to listen to everything. That tranny replacement has got to be over $600!! All kidding aside, My question is how did they finally come around? I thought you were done after their first denial in January. That is great service! Thanks for posting back.

I will follow up with the dealer when I return from Spring Mountain and after driving another C8. I have a 1LT, so no PDR.

If you leave the PDR on all the time or when in valet mode you can go back and show the dealer GM .

would contact the owner and let him know and secondly, contact GM. That is outrageous and unethical conduct on their part.

Much appreciated - I was thinking of going to that school too, but couldn't work it out... All of us who have this will be very eager to hear what you find - Really getting sick of listening to it!
