Wow, exactly same as what mine told me....which I found out in researching this is the same reaction GM gave to CTS owners years ago who were having the same issue.

I mentioned the whine in my C8 to the local dealer tech. His notes on my paperwork said he drove it for over an hour and never heard it. It just so happens I had recorded my odometer when I dropped off the C8. When I picked up the car, the miles on the odometer had not changed! Time for a new dealer!

would contact the owner and let him know and secondly, contact GM. That is outrageous and unethical conduct on their part.GBA Black; HTO Twilight/Tension interior; Z51 & Mag Ride; E60 lift; 5VM visible carbon fiber package; 5ZZ high wing; FA5 interior vis CF; ZZ3 engine appearance; 3LT; Q8T Spectra Gray Tridents; J6N Edge Red Calipers; SNG Edge Red Hashmarks; VQK Splash Guards; RCC Edge Red engine cover; VJR illuminated sill plates. Realized I'd never updated this thread. After a bit of escalation, Service Director went for a test drive and recognized the sound immediately as a ring/pinion issue once we got up to 45 mph. They brought in GM Engineer/Tech who also drove it and approved a replacement, then it went to GM for final approval. Once they got recordings with the "big ears" of the tranny, they appoved it and I received a new transmission earlier this month.

Thanks! Oh, I just bypassed original service manager, went up the chain a bit in the dealership and also got a GM social media rep who posted on the corvetteforum.com involved, though not really sure if she accomplished much of anything. Just kept my cool and presented facts, also made point that if differential failed at some future point it could cause an accident. Anyway, sometimes you've gotta go up the chain a bit to get things done, glad they came through for me.Last edited by improviz; 03-26-2021, 05:30 PM.

Yes, as mentioned on the other site, it has developed a very slight whine above 50 mph in the last 100 miles or so.I just crossed 500 miles, but I'm still gonna granny-drive it for a few hundred more to give it all the time in the world to break in gently. Right now it's very slight, but it has gotten more noticeable as I accrue miles (deja vu), so let's see how it does over the next few hundred miles.
Keeping fingers crossed.

improviz, You hear this with your windows closed and top on? Sounds like everything is closed up. What is your build? I know you have a z51, but do you have a COUPE or HTC? MAG RIDE? I know that sounds silly, however, MAG ride completes the PTM ... maybe there are different messages being exchanged.
You crossed 500 miles on the new DCT?
I have a trip planned for tomorrow though I am only at 120 miles.2021 Coupe, AYellow,z51,Mag,2LT,JetBlk,GT2,LIft,Dual RoofTransparent Deposit:4/20; 2000 12/18/20; 3800 2/22/21;4200 3/1/21; 5000 3/3/21
