  • Chazcron’s C8 ELB Render & More

Elkart Lake Blue C8. Thank you so very much Chazcron for the below excellent renderings. The two pictures below are NOT in time sequence for the second ZORA one below was before he just finished adding panel lines.

Putting this another way, the top ELB one is his latest rendering. Bottom one is really nice too! He has noted that he will be doing his 360 spin video fairly soon.

Us also. At the time it was released, it was the Corvette color, at least in the last decade, with the highest metallic flake content (do not know if that is still true). NRB would be our ME color in a heartbeat!

I'm in for torch red, also.Just not with red interior. Red/red is just too much for me.

Thankfully, we are going to again have interior choices. Highly likely that we will have the same five basic choices as the C7 — though probably some smaller changes within them, just like the smaller exterior color changes we fairly often get. So perhaps gray would become lighter or darker gray, red lighter or darker red, and so forth. Maybe we even get a surprise, e.g., an outlier from the C7 options. Hope so, and that it is one that speaks to a lot of us.

Torch red exterior with a black interior is a cool choice in my opinion...

With the exception of British Racing Green, I prefer my cars in their national racing color which for the US would be 1) White, 2) White with blue stripes; or 3) Blue with white stripes. Guess I am going for blue, on the fence for the stripes

I understand. However, Doug Fehan has noted that yellow is the safest color for his drivers — as it is most easily seen by other drivers. Therefore as long as there is the C7.R program, we will see the cars in yellow. And if Doug sticks around at least for the C8.R to be initially run at LeMans, as he suggested he would do on last week’s IMSA podcast we have here (below), my guess is that the C8.R will also debut in yellow.

Candidly for the 4% of Corvette buyers who like and buy a yellow Corvette, because that color is consistently very near the bottom of colors chosen by customers, without Doug’s decision to run the race cars in yellow, I doubt we would see the option of yellow Corvettes as customer cars.

But the nice thing Maxster, is that there will always be a white Corvette and a blue Corvette offered, and as you say, you are on the fence for stripes... Best of luck!

I personally like that color as well. Having said that, I live in Florida and try to avoid black for obvious reasons. I test drove a 2015 Z51 that was Torch red with grey interior. It sounded ugly, so I wanted to go see it for myself. It was surprisingly not awful. I'm a fan of Kalahari
