Let's start fresh for 2021 and watch Bowling Green Assembly plant rock out the 2021's
Current speculation was they hoped to start the 2021's December 10th. It would be awfully hard to do that because even at 200 cars per day they would still fall a day and a half late.
So, lets peg December 14th as the beginning of MY2021 production.

Yes, thank you VERY much for adding a MY 21 production thread. Would really be interesting to know how many 2021 orders GM has sitting on the books right now...and how many of those are carry over from 2020. That would certainly add a dimension to your data.

2020 will be in the books in the next two weeks. There aren't "2020 carryover orders" per se. However, there are a lot of us (myself included) that had to re-enter our order as a 2021. I would LOVE to know how many C8 allocations GM gave for the first 3 months. I won't make the first group (Nov/Dec/Jan), but will be in the first month of the next 3 month drop (if that is what they do next round). What's crazy is the last consensus (prior to November) was in March - and we're still building cars. Yes, COVID caused the plant to shut down, and we now have a second shift, but they must have dropped a ton of cars in March to take us this far out. Anyhow, it would be super to know how many allocations went out for the first 3 months of model year 2021. That would make the spreadsheet much more relevant - knowing what "number" we're tracking towards. Wishing the suppliers, the GM workers, and everyone on the MECF continued good health as we fight through these unprecedented times.

That is one thing, I think, GM is really failing on. Instead of shutting off information they should have released more. There is only one way to stop the complaints about lack of information and that is to provide enough.

That's one thing we can agree on.

I'm a resonalble individual and a customer, and even if you told me "you simply don't know" at lease you've provided that information. Saying nothing should never be a solution to communication, especally to customers. Good-will doesn't typically cost anything.

Something to remember... a car begins down the line about 3 days before it rolls off. So there could be some over lap. If the last 2020 rolls off on the 11th, the 1st 2021 would have started the line on the 8th, as we have heard. Yes major lack of information, but as many have said once we start our car for the 1st time. All is forgotten. Lets all hope they can keep the pace. Will be interesting to watch and see if there is a normal 2 week break.

I believed early this summer that all the folks that were going to get cut off for MY 20 would be given head of the line privilege for MY 21. That doesn't seem to be the case?

Something doesn't seem right about that, AND I double that it's not right you and everyone else in your camp aren't being given facts by the dealer and/or GM to set expectations.

I think my dealer has done a commendable job of setting expectations, but we all know that could go out the window as well. I've triangulated what they are telling me with what I'm seeing here at MECF and the area of uncertainty is small -- the dealer seems to have their facts in order.

As Ldstoy94 just pointed out, 2021 production could well start on the 10th with the last 2020 started early on the 10th.
So Vin 1G1YxxD4xM5100001 could be started on the 10th with vin 1G1YxxD4xL5119456 finishing on December 11th and Vin 1G1YxxD4xM5100001 finishing on the 14th

All good in my world. I like my dealer. Just had to re-enter my order due to the lower than expected numbers for MY 2020. My light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter.
(Sorry, Brad. Just wanted to provide clarity regarding my original post. My dealer is on the forum. I want to make sure he knows I'm good. Ha.)

Hopefully 2021 will be somewhat more predictable, with safety measures already in place and a second shift already up-2-speed, would it be unrealistic to see 1/3 more out the door?

IF, they start 2022's in Mid September, then I think they could build in excess of 30,000 2021's.
Once we know exactly when they have started the 21's I'll fill out the SS for an average of 11.6 cars per hour.
This is based on a loose schedule of 4 weeks per month and 5 months January through August.
