My guess is they were maybe catching up on some HTC's so they don't get too far behind.

Why a few days of slower C8 production? I can tell you we have confirmed it is not the virus, not parts shortages. There are no issues at BGA. Please let us not get into a worry mode each and every time production of the number of assembled units per day temporarily slows down. So let us think about what GM announced and what I personally know from having put myself through college working on a major OEM auto assembly line during summers.
Repetitive motion builds us assembly speed. But speed is not enough in the quality work fo C8 manufacture. One needs speed AND quality of execution. So let us imagine that after X amount of time of an employee working on installing certain parts work on either the “A” side or “B” side of an assembly line, when all of sudden through a major new feature, that everything gets shifted “in reverse.”
Anyone figured it out yet where I am going?
Anyone remember that GM announced a little while ago that they are starting to build right hand drive exports units early in the new year?
BINGO!
Please can we have 100% faith (as I do) that BGA is led by the best GM assembly manager in the world Kai Spande, that right on starting down to the Ass’t BGA Manager Nora Roper, then every other manager there, then every QC specialist, and then every employee there are working smartly and collaboratively to build us the best C8’s possible at the best possible speed, and that such things as this short term ramp up for export versions has been long planned for, was expected, and it will end worth assembly speed going back to those glory 186 or more unit build days.
But for those who are astute, you are also thinking ahead that down the road not too long there will be other days of less than optimum numbers of units assembled as a result of CTF vehicles for future un-named but planned for major model(s) as they start to be integrated into the assembly line — and yes, those integrations will slow things down a touch on a short term basis, and yes, they too are planned, and yes, all these things will be expertly accomplished by the outstanding 1,400 member team at Bowling Green.GBA Black; HTO Twilight/Tension interior; Z51 & Mag Ride; E60 lift; 5VM visible carbon fiber package; 5ZZ high wing; FA5 interior vis CF; ZZ3 engine appearance; 3LT; Q8T Spectra Gray Tridents; J6N Edge Red Calipers; SNG Edge Red Hashmarks; VQK Splash Guards; RCC Edge Red engine cover; VJR illuminated sill plates. Now that, makes total sense. Imagine Driving from the Right side, and you can only imagine working with parts backwards and such.
