  • POLL: Getting Early Z06 Via Custom VIN Option

We have done the “yes I am,” or “no I not getting” a Z06 poll before. But a post a couple of minutes ago by “Plentyfast” (thank you) triggered something that I am curious about.

Since we saw that those who selected he option of “chose a low VIN” ($5,000) were definitely benefitted by getting their 2020 StingRay’s early, how many of you are now considering that $5,000 option (code “PIN”) to help get your Z06 early as possible. Of course without an allocation it would not help at all but what if GM is wanting to get a sense of which options/versions of the Z06 do initial customer wants, and they dispense a disproportionate amount of early Z06 allocations, but then its early production Z06 rollout is slow for whatever reason? Would it be worth it to you to have spent $5,000 for PIN to get your Z06 right up front, maybe even made in week one?

Please: This poll is only for those who are definitely getting a C8 Z06.

I have much better uses for $5,000 and would not consider a custom VIN.

Wow, getting my Z06 made early, especially after my ugly C8 wait, would be worth $5K.

Not sure yet, for I need to see its MSRP and the cost of the other options I want first.

I do not want an early Z06. I will wait and first have GM fine tune its early Z06 production.

I would rather use the money on options.

Would definitely been worth the 5K for the 20MY. Now that I have one I will enjoy it and patiently wait for the ZO6 no matter what happens.

I'm hoping to have my stingray for at least 6 months before my allocation comes up. I want time to decide if I really want to spend the money to upgrade and enough time to figure out what options I can do without as I doubt I will be willing to max out a Z06 like I'm doing with the stingray.

If I didn't already have this great C8, I might consider it. This car will definitely make the wait more tolerable.

I'm happy to wait and let them work out the kinks like on the C8.

Honestly I'm very nervous about the reliability of a flat plane crank with a 8500 or 9000 RPM redline coming from GM. If they go the twin turbo route, I'm less concerned, but over heating might creep back up.
