  • Who is planning to buy the front end lift system?

    My Better half is strongly suggesting me to buy the front end lift system for the c8.

    who here thinks that is an option they will order?

    any downsides to getting such technology?

    maintance ? Weight?

    Cost will probably be around ?

    I’ll be ordering it. Where I live, I’m Sure it will pay for itself from not breaking carbon fiber. As a guess, I think around $1800.00. To me it sounds like money well spent.

      Great thread JB. Thank you. The primary factor why we believe it could be an option, is a leaked CAD drawing. This CAD which clearly shows
      conventional coil over shocks, with at the bottom, an attachment coupling and hydraulic line to power such a system.

      While my C7 factory CF splitter remains intact, that is because there are places we drive up to and realize, whoops, can not get in there, or must use an alternative driveway which is less step, etc. However, I will pay more than $1,800 for a front axle lift system (FALS) if offered, e.g., Porsche’s system is $2,500.

      Second, though a much more minor reason why I suspect GM would offer it, is that GM is looking for brand conquests, many coming from other exotics which most often have a FALS.

          How about a center console switch. There are YouTube videos of Porsche’s FALS and the McLaren’s. The Porsche FALS is a simple switch. The McLaren one is a three sequential step process.

            I think I'll be getting it, especially if it also allows you to lower the car below the normal ride height.

                Will this front lift option require some other option combo to get it?

                i think Im going to follow the advice of forum members ...if its 1800 or less...what the heck..

                i hate that scrappjng noises lately...lol

                  Best guess, for we sure do not have definitive information, that the FALS will be both a stand alone option and standard within the 3LT (upping that level’s interior base price and therefore its profit), and since so many choose that interior, this will greatly increase the take rate for the FALS (spreading its development costs over a much larger base). Again just a guess, for it well could be a totally stand alone option.

                    Doesn’t someone offer one that works off the front camera system. When it detects something coming up, it automatically raises? Perhaps I’m Just imagining things again but I thought I read someone has or was developing it.

                      1800 dollars to not hear the scrapping sounds like a plan...

                      3LT..not so much..i never buy fully loaded cars...i like to cherry pick ..

                      so far Im imagining...c8 z51 dct, npp, mrc , 1lt, and fals..

                      all these code letters.... will we get secret decoder rings with every purchase?

                        I am unaware of any such system other than one that raises the license plate if the LP is mounted really low, but nothing to raise the splitter nor other parts necessary for getting over speed bumps, sharply raised driveway aprons or dips. Is anyone aware of such an aftermarket option system please?

                          It might of been one of the guys working on it for their SLC. There is a lot of talent with some of those fellows. I had curb feelers on my 59 Caddy. Maybe I'll have to add some on the front of the C8.

                              For me it all depends. Height of the front end, how the splitter is mounted if there is one and the material it’s made from. We’ve got stage one on the Z06 and the flexible splitter is ok to live with. Can’t see how you could drive a carbon fiber one around here without breaking it.
