Good to know, thanks. Maybe I'll go ahead and install mine anyway then.

Mine were dry also when I checked for first time, didn't look like they were ever sitting in water. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

My 2020 had water on the passenger side and then the 2021 on the drivers. Does GM do a water test for leakage on the whole car when they are completed?

Yes! The car gets soaked from many angles, I've seen a video clip on it, maybe somebody had it or can post it.

Here's a vid of the test on a C7. I'm assuming they use the same booth on the C8. But they're not going to pull the panels in the trunk afterwards to see if it's dry under there.

              • I have a 2021. GM did do a correction, but when washing I still got a little water on the drivers side. I then installed the covers, it was a very simple installation.

Shoot its only $60, and it made by a fellow member. Shoot I'm spending almost 10 grand in additional add-ons to my vette already, whats another $60, lol..

                    • So those super-duper high-pressure water tests during quality acceptance at BGA didn't catch this?

We had a pretty good downpour in our area yesterday...but who wants to take a new C8 out in the rain?

                          • Which covers do most members order? The covers at 'angry off road' look the same as the ones at the 'radiator grill store'. Are they the same? Are there others to consider? I notice that the 'angry off road' site is not secure - where are folks ordering from?

ID:	279072 I had water in most sections of both towers, but the driverโ€™s side was worse and had corrosion on one bolt. I cleaned them up, installed covers on 3/27/21 and as of yesterday I removed them and they were bone dry. I hope the pictures turned out okay.

They would have to pull the covers after the water test to see. But I'm surprised it wasn't discovered during the 100,000 miles of on-road testing the cars were put through.
