  • Your Five Top C8 Z06 Characteristics

Let’s see if we can do a thread where everyone follows the threads strict parameter of naming ONLY the five top things you are wanting in the Z06. It would be even better if you listed realistic ones.

    My five wishes are:

    1) Naturally aspirated

    2) Active aero

    3) Flat plane revving to 8,000+ RPM

    4) 651+ HP

    5) 525+ TQ

Flat Plane Crank - Naturally Aspirated 600 HP+ Higher RPM Quicker Revving
High Wing Spoiler - Like to see it all the time - Not a fan of the look of active aero and adds considerable expense (Save that for the ZORA )
Frunk Venting as well as Front Fender Venting - Less Drag More Downforce
Rear Engine Compartment Venting - way beyond the current rear window venting - With added Side Scoop Intakes
Headlights Buried just below the hood line - Smaller and Thick Glass Covers- Not Huge and Exposed Plastic like current Stingray

    * PLEASE A CHROME WHEEL OPTION* - OR A POLISHED CLEARCOAT

John's list is very much what my wish list consists of. Basically, the Z06 should incorporate everything the C8 is lacking. Give me more horsepower, louder exhaust, flat plane crank, wider tires, wider body with larger side vents like the 2020 Ford GT. It should be distinctively Z06 in appearance and easily differentiated from the base car. I am hopeful that it will run low 10's and wail at 9,000 RPM's.

      Bring it on!!!

        1. Rear visibility that is as good as the C8 Stingray's front visibility. Why: the ease/difficulty of assessing the environment limits the practical performance capacity. Perhaps transparent material in the upper parts of the reach hatch would make a big difference. Something like the C8 transparent roof material. The 720S Spider has something [material] like that in the upper hatch that allows see through. Or whatever works. Or a transparent rear hatch option.

        2. Weight trimming. As and if practical.

        3. The anticipated flat crank V8 with high RPM and good HP/TQ apportionment.

        4. Good passive aero

        5. Keep it a simple as practical and practical as simple.

          1. FPC NA 625-650hp 9K rpm. (TT would not be deal breaker).

          2. Tasteful low profile passive aero or stand alone option for active aero.

          3. A 'cleaned' up, less busy looking rear end with center mounted aggressive sounding exhaust.

          4. Reasonably priced forged wheel options.

          5. More seat, stitching color options for 1LZ.

John this is a great excercise and makes you think on what motivates all of us to pull the trigger on a new performance car.
                          My top 5 would be
                          1. 650 HP normal aspirated V8 Flat plane crank
                          2. Access to the ECU !!!!
                          3. Active rear spoiler like the GT
                          4. More Chevy Racing performance related factory options like less restrictive air intake filter system and performance exhaust
                          5. Wide body Z06 style

You guys at fooling yourselves if you think they are going to get 600+ horsepower NA. The most powerful NA engines in the world barely get there with 10 & 12 cylinders. Certainly nothing in mass production does and not with a reasonable torque curve. The leaked CAD drawings were spot on for the Stingray so there is no doubt it will be TT. Having a smaller tunable TT v8 will make it compete with anything world wide, mainly the higher level Porsche.

                              1. TT High revving dohc
                              2. Active Aero
                              3. C8R styling
