  • It's working exactly as it should. Like Falcon said, don't try to often or it will shutdown to preserve the battery.

          • I concur that with your assessment on the the start of 2021 production as it looks to me like they are trying to wrap up production by Dec 11th. At the current production rate they should be able to make up the 60 that you have remaining for the week of the 14th.

As I have no one else to get info on my 2020 order (dealer knows no more than I), I went ahead and contacted CC this am and they told me 3300 with no TPW and to contact them in 2 weeks....... "uh, wait what??!!!". I guess I knew this would be the response, but figured why not. Tic. Tic. Tic.

I'm in a strong position to win the last 2020 vin lottery. Given all of what has happened this year, I think that car should be worth way more than VIN #00001

            • I’d check again this afternoon. I just moved to 3400 today so I think they are moving the last bunch of us (obviously) to week of 12-7. By my calculations per the spreadsheet, the 2020 VIN lottery winner and bringing up the rear of the 2020 Congo line should be 19456

              • Wow. Go BG. Even with the accelerated production the last few days I am still looking at 11.30 for my car to roll of the line. Fingers crossed.

                • It's almost comical to ask the CC for a TPW now since they aren't being told anything either. We likely know more than them now. lol
There are only two TPW's left. So those still waiting have either a 11/30 TPW or a 12/7 TPW.
Another thing we know is that your vin is somewhere between L5117406 (likely closer to 17600) and L5119456.
Since you've waited this long, it would be nice to see a MECF member get L5119456.

THAT is what I have been waiting for. The last "public" 2020 vin produced! If you do get it, then hats off to ya? Maybe it will be more valuable!

Hey Murray, what do you think accounts for the %10 increase in daily production? Are they stretching the hours before the holiday? I doubt they suddenly got more efficient.

I was pondering that myself. Do you think since the long weekend is fast approaching that they don't need to pace themselves in regards to parts availability? Use up available parts since maybe Mexico is the week link and they will be working tomorrow and Friday?
Or as someone on the Canadian forum speculated each shift may have put in O/T?
Whatever the reason it's nice to see those numbers. Well above the expected 11.6 cars per hour.

I'm betting that they want to start 2021 production on the 14th and want to ensure all 2020s are built. They have pending orders for 21s and no more 20s. The sooner the 21s come on line the better.

I put my deposit down on July 24 2019 and went to 3000 on March 17. So I'm coming up on 17 months. Definitely the longest wait for a car ever. McLaren was previously the longest at 9 months (sans COVID).
