  • C8 Beautiful Bird’s Eye View

We thank “Shaka” for creating this top view. The Corvette “coke bottle” look pioneered many generations ago, certainly continues for the mid engine.

When Shaka refers to the WIDE SIDE, what he is saying, especially noticeable on the hood’s differences, is that the upper half he imagines is what he imagines the Z06 equivalent ME would look like, the bottom half being the entry, 2020 version.

What do you think of this bird’s eye view rendering of the mid engine?

I remember c7pimp talking about the C8’s coke bottle shape. He said that the car widened out greatly behind the doors. He was correct.
Enjoying my Shadow gray C8. What a car it is.

I had not realized how much the doors are the narrowest part of the car.

Interesting that Shaka rendered the “base” side with a front splitter and none on the “wide side”. This would be opposite of the C7 where the “base” was devoid of aero and that aero was only included on the performance (Z51, Z06 and later GS) models.?

Really good catch. Think it was just a simple “overlooking error,” for Shaka is super bright, a past career in aero, and all of us fun know that a splitter is a more appropriate component of a Z06 version than for a base version.

This drawing shows a plan view of the car that should be pretty accurate as far as size and proportions go. The main features are in the correct place and sized correctly..

The hood and fender details are fairly accurate as well..

Thank you fvs! Very information. I especially like the hood from that angle.

                Great idea.
I always liked that type of Coke-bottle styling in performance cars, especially ones with flowing lines like in the 1960s.
