ThanK you very much fvs! It does look strange as photo’d, but that is how it is going to be. However, when looked at from this perspective, I am liking it.

That would seem to be a logical place for the door handle, but I seem to recall one of the 'ring photos showed an indication that the latch was further forward. I'll have to see if I can find it again, but there are so many photos.....

Edit: Well, if there was such a picture I can't find it now. Maybe I hallucinated it.

That top of door’s rear “wing” does look strange when the door is open, but look natural when the door is closed. Good find fvs.
Enjoying my Shadow gray C8. What a car it is.

Very similar to the door edge of the LaFerrari for better or worse...not bad company tho...

Looks like the c8 doors open slightly upward which seems to avoid smacking into curbs?

More than "slightly" upward I'd say, but I don't think you'll be smacking the overhang at the top of the door into any curbs. And it looks like the bottom of the doors based on the couple of photos we've seen of the test cars with doors open are at at least as high as the current C7, so should go over most curbs. In fact, in the picture FVS posted at the top of this thread, it looks like the bottom of the doors may slope upward toward the rear, giving even more clearance.

That would be nice. I also agree that the bottom of the door’s back/bottom edge is curved upward. As no one enter next to the seat itself but in front of it, so why not have the door’s bottom/backward edge be “scooped upward” to insure less door impact on high curbs. That would have two nice corollaries, that the door itself weights a pound or two less (easier for opening and closing), and that the aperature panel/structural underneath pieces could be larger/stronger.

There is little doubt that they are equipped with "swan" doors. Ala Aston Martin. It's a brilliant stroke of useful genius. The hinges get a slight twist upward and it elevates the extended door about 6" - 10" to avoid any untimely contact with higher, solid surfaces.

Various curb height in various locations makes this swan hinge feature much welcomed.

i daily mine and parrallel park with passengers quite often. Youd be surprised how close the previous generation doorbottoms can get to curbs usually getting in..Sometimes its the streets sinking or just poor design of the streets curbs sidewalks etc..

its a pain in the butt as the driver to have to get out and see whats going on.. never been a pleasant experience..

doesnt happen that often but when it does...

glad the c8 has swan hinges as shown...thanks for posting up.

                        cool
