If One C8 Info Could Be Secretly Be Revealed To ONLY You?

For me, I just realized everything evolves around when I will be getting my car. I know that is self-centered, but if it is at a time in fall early enough we could drive it home from Criswell’s, over the Rockies without a significant snow/ice concern, that would mean our wish to drive it cross country to the Pacific Northwest would be realized. Conversely, if we do not get it until November, that is too late to cross the mountains and might would consider alternatives such as Museum Delivery, heading straight south/southwest on the Natchez Trace Parkway, connect with I-20, then 1-10 to roughly Southern California and head north (with only the Siskiyou Mountains at the No. California/Oregon border to be weather concerned about.

What gets complicated is that Museum Delivery must be selected at the time the initial order goes in, and if ordering is May/June, who could then guess well about delivery date, the weather, etc.

I know it will work out somehow, but that is the one thing I would love to know right now (and would only share with just my wife and my dog),

Id like to know the performance statistics...acceleration amd lateral gs..that would be fun to know...

with around 500 hp , a dct and a rear mid engine layout...it should be pretty quick...

im curious if it ll accelerate as quickly as a mclaren [email protected] its recntly been a very tempting exotic..i keep seeing them all over the place...id say they are more popular than porsche 911 turbos these days..

i was up in the mountains awhile back and in my corvette i had a lot of fun running the mclaren through the twosties..

i kept saying to myself thats at least in form wjat the c8 will look like...

out of the gate even with “only”around 500 hp i feel the c8 should run dam close to the 570 in acceleration and i think the corvette team will outdo the mclaren 570 in handling...

as it is the c7 grand sport equals the mclaren in the last car and driver lightning lap so id find it hard to believe the c8 wont handle as well as the c7 grand sport..

the torque and hp along with the dct should give the c8 amazing acceleration capability not to mention being able to power out of the corners..

im just shooting the breeze...but zero to sixty in 3.3 ? Sounds about right..

JB, Ido not think you are shooting the breeze, in fact an earlier poll on this forum, the average was 3.35 seconds. Spot on, e.g., the combo of the DCT, and the HP/TQ of a GM V8.

Adding in a hoped for 100 pounds lighter weight due to a variety of factors including GM’s already started to be implemented “lightweighting” program,” think a time right around 3.3 would be achieveable.
