  • If One C8 Info Could Be Secretly Be Revealed To ONLY You?

If One Piece of C8 Info Could Be Secretly Revealed Just To You?

Let us suppose you could ask a top member of the Corvette team one question today, with the understanding that the singular thing you learned is that you could not share with even a friend, and definitely not post that info? But knowing that one piece of info is personally critical to you now

What is the singular thing you are most interested in learning about the 2020 mid engine Corvette that you are personally dying to know right now?

Could it be something in the dealbreaker category?

Might it be what its interior looks like?

    What’s its MSRP price?

    What its exterior looks like?

Will it offer a manual trans?

When customer cars start to be manufacturers?

    Its reveal date?

    Will color “x” be offered?

Whether the 2020 model year will offer more than one motor?

I thought of this thread first about three hours ago, and I personally can not come up with a single answer that I could ask for — for that one answer would eliminate so many other pieces of info I would therefore not get.

Let’s talk about some of the obvious one’s, such as seeing exactly what the car would look like? Do I really care now? Personally not, as I have faith it will look great, and is that the sole thing I would most want.

How about its HP? Well, that one piece is less important to me than its torque. Or its weight.

How about whether it would offer a manual trans? In spite of my having 53 manuals in a row, I am going to jump shift and would even choose a DCT if it were offered.

Therefore, after three hours of thinking about this off and on, and I am still no closer to figuring out what is the one thing I would “trade all else for.”

    Anyone?

      Ok I'll bite

I wanna know what the trans is, dct or slushbox or by some miracle a three pedal manual.

I am confident that the appearance and performance will be adequate, but if the only option is a slushbox I am going to plan B and not looking back.

Dang, after typing that I REALLY WISH I KNEW. Thanks John....

I’m pretty sure looks, colors, interior design and power will be generally okay so let’s go luggage capacity and shape.
Price might be a concern but still I’ll stick with the above.
There is a madness to my method!

When is the high performance version scheduled to go into production?

The manufacturers retail suggested price is the most important because I am confident that everything else will be excellent.

Weight. In this age of supercars/hypercars, power is the least of team corvette's worries.

They go hand in hand. Without one the other is useless.

WoW, then you can be confident of everything! As long as you are not expecting a miracle, just good and fair pricing that is affordable to the traditional Corvette buyer

(Made that previous statement based on my seeing an average Corvette buyer C7 price, before the C7 was released, being in the high $70,000/low $80,000 range, and IMO, it will be less than that.

Absolutely, weight is the most important thing to deal with in a race car, and any high performance car. .But all the sanctioning bodies in racing add weight requirements to their series. Weight effects acceleration, braking, cornering G, brake pad wear, tire wear, tire heat, sprung and unsprung weight, polar moment.
reduce weight, and all of the above improve their performance.

I'm confident in the looks (amazing!). I want to know if a manual is offered. That could change my order to a current grand sport while I still have time.
