While scrolling through my Corvette photo picture bank, I noticed an interesting design cue, that may have been carried forward from th C7 prototype by Hwasup Lee and the current renderings based on information provided to date. Could what we saw in the C7 side cove prototype be the basic shape of what we will see on the ME?

That is a great find Leshelt. Thank you very much. If it is “flipped reversed,” that would be consistent with Corvette designs often using/re-using past design exercise components and past Corvette actual production “visuals.”

Very interesting. All designs never die. They get shelved and then come around again in one way or another. The shape is very similar to what we have been assuming from c8R and ring camo pictures. I’ll have a look and see if there is enough difference to compare

The top and bottom edges of the scoop rendering above Are more or less parallel. And the top edge angles down towards the front of the car.
One thing we know for pretty sure, is that the top front edge of the scoop which is on the camo cars seems to be pretty accurate. The shape is similar to the Lamborghini Aventador only larger. But, who knows, we could be in for surprise.
This rendering suggests the top rear quarter panel NACA intakes and has the ZR1 similar grill and nose as was described. Maybe this rendering has some credible features.Last edited by fvs; 09-29-2018, 09:38 AM.

Ref #7 render: in my opinion this is the best design we've seen. The design that makes you want to mortgage everything to get it. Unfortunately, I agree with FVS that we've already seen to much that contradicts this design.

But thats why the world doesn't topple (thats a saying where I come from, basicly meaning that its good not everyone like the same)

Davidboss10, let’s communicate hours after the reveal and see what you are thinking then. Let’s do that for all with a thread we shall have that reveal day which is something along the line,
I really, actively, positively, seriously disliked the ME earlier today, but having now seen it buck naked, I am loving it, #completely changed my mind.
And dissenting opinions will be welcome in that thread and others.

I think you misunderstood john, I said i disagreed with AbqVic saying I didnt like the rendering in post no.7 that he mentioned, not the ME. I obviously like the ME and especially the way FVS portrays them...
Plus i did say that people having different opinions is good because it gives something to discuss about, otherwise it would just be a dull worldLast edited by Daviboss10; 09-30-2018, 12:04 PM.

I can tell you from experience and after looking at and comparing ALL the images and renderings we have seen that they are not THAT different. All share basic attributes and "emphasize" different features. Mine may be more accurate as to the actual known features, size and position but all have captured some of the overall feeling of the car to one degree or another. The CF rendering above, although not incorporating the known features or details, captures a feeling and presence of the car...and to be fair, was one of the earliest renderings, knowing almost nothing. It is generally a C7 brought forward to a midengine. My earlier renderings did something similar and changed as we discovered more.
We are still in for surprise and Awe IMO!

fvs,
I’m wondering/hoping that the side scoops we’ve been seeing on the C8R and test mules are merely add on pieces that have been screwed to the body to obscure the real scoop. It looks to me that the observed scoops could actually cover the scoop we see in the CF rendering.
What do you think?
