  • POLL: Which Year C8 Are You Getting

    For those planning on getting a mid engine Corvette, what are your current plans?

    To insure we all vote based on the same basis, assume that when revealed, you personally confirm that :

    A) Its price is consistent with your budget/finances;
    B) You are excited by its looks;
    C) You are good with its powertrain;
    D) It has adequate storage for your needs;
    E) There are no “dealbreakers.”

      Great poll question John. I voted "I am getting year one ME". I also tried to abide by the the five "basis" criteria as best I could. I had a little difficulty with criteria E "There are no deal breakers." The only possible "deal breaker" I can see is if following production and public distribution, an unforeseen issue with the car comes to light that would need to be dealt with.

      I don't anticipate that but my purchase strategy involves seeing the early usage reports and trade journal reviews to assure no red flags exist. I do believe Chevy will get it right from the start.

              I'm holding out for the rumored 1000hp AWD in year 2 or 3. Cash in hand. Come on GM I'm waiting for the reveal. John, I'm glad you have chosen the orange on your avatar. I'm hoping orange is still an option when I buy.

              Regards Brian

                I am pretty sure we will see the Sebring Orange offered next year for two reasons. First is that GM is slowly moving toward bolder colors for its sportier vehicles, and second and more importantly, the take rate for SO for the ZR1’s astounded GM with a 34% rate, and the rate for non-ZR1’s this year was also double what GM estimated. I have a friend who also desperately wants SO for his 2020. That level of take rate on a new color most often results in it re-appearing in year two.

                I chose the orange for my avatar becuase of the hood treatment in fvs’ rendering of what he thought a Z06 version’s hood might look like, but as of now, we have not idea as to what color our ME would be. If SHOCK yellow is next year’s yellow (replacing Racing Yellow) but if ithas as much green (neon-look) in it as some pictures are showing, we will abandon yellow in a heartbeat. Maybe a gorgeous red, or maybe one of the two replacement colors, or maybe Shadow Gray Metallic (love the blue in it).

                Or if as we have asked in another thread, if GM produces the two additional colors that the new paint shop is capable of, might there be one or two of those that excite a bunch of us?

                  I'm getting one as soon as I can afford to get it. Even if that isn't until the C9 is out, owning one is definitely on my bucket list.

                    First Year possibly loaded, depending on option pricing then adding Zo6 Version down the line, but do not want any part of the electric version but hope the ZO6 version will have AWD option.

                      I plan on getting a ME but have yet to decide when to buy. If demand is very strong as I suspect, I will wait a while. But if demand is soft and ME cars are readily available I will buy sooner.

                        Something very important will be the actual cost & do I like the color ? There's been a few other cars in the past I wouldn't buy because there wasn't a color I really liked . Wifey says I'm picky , LoL

                          With the “maybe” of them going to 12 colors, as we first discussed here almost three months ago then again later, perhaps one of the new ones will be exactly what you are looking for. We too are hoping for just that one color that we would love.

                            Would anyone who worked in a paint shop be able to explain why with all the new expansion, why they could not paint whatever colors they wanted? Why is there a limit to the colors?

                              VW for the Golf models still made in Wolfsburg, the R and E, offers 30 custom colors in addition to the 5 base (for their Canadian customers only, much to the annoyance of 'muricans).

                              Sorry for the thread drift.
