Boardwalk Chevrolet was allocated 200 of the 2020 model year Corvette, and we still have slots available. Here's how it works:

    1) You provide contact information and a fully refundable $5K deposit using a credit card. (We don't charge the card until we're much closer to placing your order.) Your deposit sequence number establishes the order in which your car will be ordered.

    2) As your turn gets closer, you work with a Boardwalk sales person to create a configuration checklist, which will be used to enter your order. You can change your mind as new information becomes available, right up until your turn to order comes.

    3) As our allocation is released to us, we look at the next unordered customer configuration. If there are constraints on that configuration in the current allocation (like, say, a convertible before they start building them!), we skip to the next person on the deposit list, until orders have been placed for that entire allocation.

    3) When your car is ordered, you'll get a GM order number, and regular updates as it moves through the scheduling, production, and delivery process.

    4) You take delivery.

We've had a couple of people cancel their orders, and others who are on the list, but waiting for the Z06 model to be released. Because of this, we're guessing that it will take around 250 deposits to account for the 200 cars we'll get for the 2020 model year. Our intent is to keep adding to the list, and when the 2020's are gone, we'll start a 2021 list, in the same order, for anyone who didn't get a 2020 car. (Z06 folks, I'm talking right at you!!)

Let me know what questions you have, and contact me to get on the Boardwalk list!

Deposits at Boardwalk are refundable up to the event of getting the car. But please don't put a deposit down unless you are really sure that you want the car. There's a fair amount of trust involved on both sides of the transaction, that everyone will do what they say they'll do--not just the dealer, but the buyer too!

Stuff happens, though, and we get that.

Thanks. I won't be purchasing until next model year, so lots of things may change between now and then in terms of supply and demand. I just wanted to understand the policy. Which is more than fair. Great to have another good vendor on the forum.
