  • Brand New C8 Sighting In Michigan

Thanks to Pasteiners Auto Zone and my “choosing to be anonymous” friend, we have a single picture Michigan sighting of a C8 IVERS. Those headlights sure look bright.

All we have so far is that one picture, though as you know there is often a pattern of a few more showing up in the days later, sometimes also a video a couple more after that.

Ateupjoe, you were right, so here is # 2 (though very little different from # 1):

GM fancy speak for an advance mule, but prior to production. There are typically stage 1 and later stage 2 IVERS.

              Integration Vehicle Engineering Release

A mule is a cobbled together previous gen car in which they try introducing a few new gen parts to test the concept, as in:

Once they feel that the concept is going to work, they start to integrate the systems into what will become the next generation production vehicle during the IVER stages.

Some think that the camo is there to hide the "coke-bottle" shape. The dark camo does not reflect light therefore creates an elusion.

John, still seems very odd to me that we only have two pics of the worlds best kept open secret?? Obviously the photo takers know what they are looking at and are driving with the IVERs or mule or prototype car so I would've expected them to drive side by side taking tons of photos, then slip in behind and click a ton more and to basically keep taking photos following that car for the next half hour or more capturing the latest shots. My point is that these are two hastily snapped photos at speed that randomly show up but it's clear from them that there should be a TON more photos with better clarity. Controlled exposure and controlled leak is what I really see.

Wouldn’t be surprised if your correct about controlled exposure or about more photos.

My my biggest surprise is that these make the car look smaller than the renders.
There is a madness to my method!

Perspective is very difficult to get right in a 2D rendering of a 3D object. This car is much wider and squatier than the renders and the close photos depict. These two shots give better perspective probably because they used a wide angle lens. Telephotos flatten everything out. Remember you have two eyes for a reason - it allows you to perceive a 3D object in one glance. A camera can't do it in a hundred years !

Good thought. We have been told that the car is an extreme coke bottle when seen from above. The GM’s “Master of Disguise” camo team s having fun playing with us.

Literally a three second video showing the above two pictures is found here.

Is that the same car spotted a few days ago? The background terrain looks similar.
