  • Video review of sports cars to perfrom like the upcoming c8

Just thought it would be fun to post you tube videos of rear mid engine sports cars which i believe will be eclisped by or equalled to by the upcoming c8 corvette to be shown this january 14th...

the british accents are hard on the ears in this ine but Im sure they say the same thing about our accents..

watch the video as it does get better...add a comment here as to how you think the c8 will compare ...add your own video for the rest of us to enjoy on any brand competitor you can think of...be it porsche, ferrari, lambo, audi r8 mclaren or acura NSX etc...

    always worth a few laughs.

I have the utmost respect for McLaren’s. Fantastically capable cars. The quality of everything if above first class. At SEMA last year, over three days, I probably spent two hours going over a massively-equipped, 570S with its owner. Was not one flaw I saw anywhere. Instead every piece of leather, every one of carbon fiber, every painted body panel, its interior controls, etc. were all a work of art.

However, having said all that, unless I end up with that elusive, winning lottery and then have a ten car garage, not a McLaren in my future. But a 2020 ME Corvette is!
2023 Z06: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, CCB’s, 3LZ, E60, and with every visible carbon fiber option order-able including wheels. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 25 year members of National Corvette Museum. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

I just watched this video above and it was a interesting review and besides the exotic doors i believe we will be able to see future reviews of the c8 mirror similiar impressions at a much more reasonabble price.

zero to sixty in 3.1, description of impressions of the 7 speed dual clutch around town and on back roads. Visability, trunk capacity impressions and the key ingredient necessary the everyday usability and fun factor all described.

forgetting about zero to sixty as this vehicle has 570 hp but probably less torque from its 3.9 liter twin turbo i believe we will be quite pleased with gm s interpetation even at release of the standard mid 60s z51 model...

starting orice will escalate quickly above the sicties but who cares....pick the options you value and every american buyer will have the opportunity to experience GM s interpetation.

dct, mrc, targa top z51like heavy duty coolers and suspemsion and we are good to go...

exotic car performance driving experience at realistic pricing...

even better will be the normal running costs as the miles pile on.

something no exotic can match and for me and for many of us who want to daily drive these bad boys is a major consideration.

that again is one of GM product strengths..

i hate big maintaince bills of exotics..

just rubs me the wrong way to live the good life....

Fun video of the audi r8 v10.

            https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HTTbVygKrP4

not my favorite but clearly an excellent germanic interpetation although rumor is no third generation of the r8 is in the works..

i believe todays halo vehicles have shifted from two seat supercars and more along the lines of suoer fast awd aoft roaders like the lamborghini urus and vw s 11 billion dollar blunder with its dieselgate has had an effect on programs like the R8 with a lack of funding at this time.

sales of the R 8 have dwindled...its lost favor among two seat exotics...

mclarens 570seemed to have eaten the audi R8 s lunch...

having had the pleasure of running with a fellow enthusiasts black 570 up in the mountains here in my lightly modded c6 z51 manual i could tell you it was a glorious day.

it wasnt ten tenths..it was just fun driving along beautiful scenery...quick but not ultra damgerous...

it was a memory ill keep for quite some time.

again i fully expect the c8 to mirror the mclaren 570 experience and not the audi r8.

i jave heard rumor from inside development that the c8 has engineers working to miminize oversteer for the novice driver utilizing electronic performance mods and not formating suspension design to dial in big understeer as in decades past with rear mid engine sports cars on the street...

audis choice of rubber was suggested ti be why it was four s3cinds a lap slower than the italian huracan in the video....not suspension settings..

do any of you think upgrading the front tire size one size would have halped the R8 track faster? That might have been an easy fix...as an owner

btw notice in this video wjere the front engine c7 z06 landed...also four secinds faster than the v10 audi r8

I doubt that this car will ever see the light of day. It would have been neat to see I will admit that but Tesla is not going to be around to build it. Maybe the next owner of the assets will build it.

I respectfully disagree. The 200k dollar tesla supercar will be a money maker for the brand.

hand built and easy to produce,

mclaren ferrari, lamborghini as well as porsche will be put on motice of such a vehicle and yes even the top model of the corvette ..

should be an exciting few years as the electrics and exotics compete.

I do not think you fully understand my statement. Tesla is going down the tubes. All of the Kings Horses and all of the Kings Men cannot prevent that now. The wheels are in motion and yes it will take 6 to 12 months but everything from cash burn, inept management. no servicing infrastructure, well funded and established competition, quality issues systemic to a uncontrolled Supply Chain/Quality Control Organization, CEO possibly in need of rehab and finally, USG subsidies ending which was a huge crutch for Tesla. Time will prove me right no matter how emotional most Tesla fans are ---- the writing is on the wall. Example--look at comments by GS today and the beating taken by the stock. Just the start. $$$$$ is $$$$$ and eventually accountability happens.

Yesterday Bob Lutz said this about Tesla on CNBC:

"They will never make money on the Model 3 because the cost is way too high. He's got 9,000 people in that assembly plant producing less than 150,000 cars a year. The whole thing just doesn't compute. It's an automobile company that is headed for the graveyard."

                    Ouch!

Just keep my post in mind..... It is not a matter of if it is when.... Musk is a walking nightmare... With all of the slow USG wheels just starting to turn it is going to be a very ugly ride to the bottom and beyond for Musk and his fans. Timeline??? Sooner than later will be ready to stick a fork in him 100% before 3nd Qtr 2019, Book It..

Tesla will be fine. Musk is a crazy inventor type lunatic but i kind of find him interesting.

remember before he went on trumps economic council the democrats loved him. Musk was saving the environoment...once he went on the trump council even after he left he is now blacklisted and the media is hell bent on destroying him..

half of what we hear now about musk is the MsM has been ordered to destroy him.

for that alone...i like him...i want him to succeed...remember first real year out his model 3 outsold the venerable bmw 3 series sales in the USA...

how many other companies like mercedes, audi, cadillac, have built sports sedans ti compete the king bmw 3 series and musk did that in the first year...

tesla model 3 in its first year has outsold the bmw 3 series sports sedan ..

I don't really care much about the Tesla drama but this comment caught my eye. Let me clarify it: "Half of what we hear now about Musk is because the Mainstream Media has been ordered to destroy him".

Wow. So there is a central authority over the free press that determines what is appropriate for the public to hear and like a Propaganda Czar it issues orders to news outlets on what to report. Herr Goebbels is smiling in his grave.

I'd say there is some truth to that.

The mainstream media built Musk up over the years as an entrepreneur extraordinaire, and now they are taking their swipes at him.

It's the same old story - build someone up and then tear them down - there's money to be made in both stages.

I'd say that truth in the mainstream media should always be questioned, as they often only provide one side of a story.

Boomer----Musk needs no help to bring himself and his company to its knees. His constant putting everything associated with that company in harms way is catching up with him even with some of his hard core fans. With the recent competition hitting the streets plus many other factors previously commented on he is going to start fading to the background because he is not the only game in town plus the competition will be able to logistically support and service the fleet through established dealerships and a well oiled supply chain. Not to mention as his gift in subsidies is now half and the competition is getting the full amount.... Just keep watching the reviews of the competition---will be more mature in design and more capability just because they were developed, tested and manufactured in a strict process controlled environment.

Spending my almost entire working life (34 years with this) in the most process controlled volume manufacturing environment there is learned that the process and all of the contributing factors associated is paramount to success....
