Rear split window is a cool throwback to 1963 yet the sketches show a really challenging front windshield shape that I wouldn’t want to clean the center.

id imagine a person would have to lay on top of the hood to clean the windshield between the passenger compartment.

I can’t imagine the front hood would not buckle from a corvette owner laying on the hood to clean that wild windshield

I love how sleek and modern it is while still including very strong cues from c3/c2 in the front. It is more retro than the c8 stingray and z06 without trying to hard to be retro. It is more retro and more futuristic at the same time. But I will temper my enthusiasm since it is a sketch after all. The sketches for the c8 and z06 looked incredible too.

I would say that ICE engines will be around for some time. GM wouldn't invest all that money in the next GEN-VI engines if they were not needing them for the future. I would definitely guess that there will be an LT3 engine with over 500+ HP for the next generation C9.

Or will the LT3 engine instead be used for 2026 Stingrays and the, IMO 2027 GS.

                rumors are always fun.

I don’t know whether the lt3 motor would be dohc or oh but if it made at least an extra 30 hp in a wide body Vette with an exhaust note that managed to find its way back into the cabin I’d buy one as an htc

Demands so high for the stingray and upmarket models I don’t yet see bowling green making an upmarket wide body c8 without the electrification.

of course I could be wrong yet from a business standpoint I would suggest that you are correct and it would eat into stingray and Eray sales (as much as it would be tempting to buy one myself )

unit volume is static limited by bowling greens production capacity. There are barely any new c8 s in dealer inventory.

from a historic perspective a 60 day supply was considered optimal by industry experts. I don’t believe new c8 s at msrp are on a dealers lot for more than a day much less having a 60 day inventory level.

with this situation I don’t see a wide body grand sport model.

bowling green is better served with erays and z06 s that start at around 104 grand and go up to close to 170 grand loaded out.

the Zr1 is coming and will sell out as well…

meanwhile the waiting list for a z06 is often estimated to be as long as 5 years. One or two year wait for the Eray at similar pricing.

Honda to Supply F1 Power Units to Aston Martin Beginning in 2026

After kind of backing out of F1 in 2021, Honda will return as an official supplier to a new partner team.

                              Miguel CortinaWriterManufacturerPhotographerMay 24, 2023

After officially "quitting" Formula 1 in 2021, Honda will return in 2026 as the official engine supplier for the Aston Martin F1 squad. The new partnership, which will be known as the Aston Martin Aramco Honda team, will mark the end of Aston's use of Mercedes-AMG engines in its F1 cars. It will also mark the grand prix "comeback" for the Japanese company, which recently ended its Red Bull Racing partnership. However, F1 followers know that Red Bull continues to run a version of Honda's power units and will do so until the existing engine/hybrid formula changes at the conclusion of the 2025 F1 season.
In a press statement, Honda said it decided to return to the road-racing pinnacle thanks to the new rules that come into effect in 2026. The new F1 regulations will require the cars to receive 50 percent of their power from the internal combustion engine, while the other 50 percent will come from an electric motor. Today, only about 20 percent of the powertrain's output comes from the electric motor. Another change will be the use of 100-percent sustainable fuel, a drastic switch from today's conventional fuel.

"These changes in F1 power-unit regulations are consistent with the direction Honda has been taking toward the realization of carbon neutrality," the company said in its statement. "Working to these regulations will have profound significance in terms of providing Honda important opportunities to pursue the development of future technologies toward that direction."

Honda Racing Corporation, the division that now provides technical support to Red Bull Powertrains, will be responsible for developing the new engine for Aston Martin.

"We believe that the technologies and know-how gained from this new challenge can potentially be applied directly to our future mass-production electric vehicles, such as an electric flagship sports model, and electrification technologies in various areas, including eVTOL [electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft] which is currently under research and development," Toshihiro Mibe, Honda's global CEO, said.

F1 often serves as a laboratory for the sport's various technical suppliers, and Honda's deep motorsports history is a good example of that. But after Red Bull's Max Verstappen won the F1 Drivers' Championship in 2021, Honda officially left the series, citing its carbon neutrality push as the main reason. After a change of global CEOs, the Japanese automaker signed a new agreement with Red Bull Powertrains in 2022 to provide ongoing support for the team's engines, which Honda designed and developed. That partnership will end in 2026, as Ford arrives as Red Bull's new engine partner, marking the Blue Oval's own return to the sport.

Under the new partnership with Aston Martin, Honda hopes to put its electric motor and battery technologies through intense tests aimed toward transferring its learnings back to mass production, the company said

Different market. E-ray is a hybrid AWD with at least 100 more HP than the GS. GS will be lighter, RWD, and pure ICE. The GS is for people wanting a track focused car at a lower price point and those who want a wide body touring car that does better than 20 MPG on the road.
