That's right, and in addition to your list, another reason the front plate requirement is heavily enforced in my state is speed cameras which are everywhere. They want to try to capture a picture of the driver.

Dropping the requirement would not save our state millions, it would cost it millions. Those little pieces of tin don't cost much.

In our state capturing the driver’s mug is a requirement for every moving violation, e.g., for both red light traffic light camera violations and for speeders.

I suspect 90% of that grill is blanked off behind it, and the radiator occupies only small area where the plate isn't located. Most cars with big grills are that way.

In Virginia, they've made it an administrative fine, like a parking ticket, and send it to the owner of the car. As the owner, if you respond and say someone else was driving, they just drop it.

It was an issue with the Lotus Elise/Exige, at least according to many who tracked them, as I did. Look at the indentations in the hood, which are an integral part of the cooling system as well as providing some downforce. Max airflow through the nose was considered important. There was no frunk, because that's where the radiators were located, and the radiators leaned backwards.

The new Emira has a similar design.

My birdie who told me two years ago that the e-Ray frunk was not compromised was so spot on. YEAH for the Corvette team for pulling off that part of the newest model perfectly.

In Oregon no picture capturing the driver is thrown away. Then they computer match the good picture with driver’s incense and tickets are consequently never forgiven.
