Yeah, I guess we'll have to "settle" for mere forged titanium connecting rods in the Z06.

Wish they would have factored in the use of Titanium with the comparison of materials used in internal components... This would have been particularly interesting considering the fact titanium has been used for connecting rods for years. In fact, the connecting rods in the LS7 found in the C6 Z06 were made of titanium and now the LT6 in the C8 Z06 are being used. It's been used for intake and exhaust valves for years.... But I'm in total agreement, CF won't be used for any internal engine components anytime soon.

I used aluminum connecting rods in my drag race engines for years, but like this video indicated the longevity using aluminum is impractical for any use other than drag racing. I recall my regular maintenance routine involved replacing them after 25-passes down the quarter mile, which equates to a life span of roughly 6.25 miles....

I question and find it difficult to believe about life expensive of aluminum rods. I have a 392 hemi with a 6-71 blower with alum rods and have driven to 20,000 miles on many trips and the street. Never one problem in anyway what so ever. If he is correct how many miles do I have left?
