  • CT6 $8K Discount

Want a CT6 before it goes away, GM is helping you with a variety of discount packages up to that amount if you buy or lease it this month.

Cadillac CT6 sales decreased 29.01 percent to 1,714 units in the fourth quarter of 2018. The decrease is not surprising considering the current market trends that strongly favor crossovers, SUVs and pickups over sedans. And now, in what could be a way to boost sales volume in the highly-competitive large luxury sedan segment, a new Cadillac discount reduces the price of select CT6 models by as much as $8,000.

    Incentives

The Cadillac discounts on the CT6 for January 2019 are as follows:
    • 2018 CT6 (finance): 0 percent APR or $1,000 cash allowance on select in-stock models when financing with GM Financial
    • 2018 CT6 (purchase): $4,000 purchase allowance + $4,000 when financing through GM Financial, for a total discount of $8,000
      • The deal seems to be limited to select markets. For example, we saw the deal active for Miami, Los Angeles, and New York, but not for Detroit
    • 2019 CT6 (lease): $2,000 toward the lease of a new model

For reference, here are the 2018 and 2019 CT6 trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs:

    2018 CT6:
    • Base/CT6 – $55,090
    • Luxury – $60,190
    • Premium Luxury – $$
    • Plug-In – $75,095
    • Platinum – $85,290

    2019 CT6:
    • Luxury – $51,490
    • Premium Luxury – $59,090
    • Sport – $67,590
    • Platinum – $87,790
    • CT6-V – $88,790

Applied to a 2018 CT6 Premium Luxury model with a starting MSRP of $66,290, the $8,000 discount brings the starting price to just $58,290, making it almost as affordable as a base/CT6 model.

    About Cadillac CT6

The Cadillac CT6 is a full-size prestige luxury sedan. It slots above the mid-size Cadillac CTS and compact Cadillac ATS as the largest Cadillac sedan. The vehicle rides on the high-tech and lightweight GM Omega platform that is currently not shared with any other vehicles, though a full-size Cadillac crossover on the architecture has been rumored.

The current model was introduced for the 2016 model year and represents the first model year of the first-generation CT6. The 2017 model year saw a few minor changes, including the addition of two new exterior colors and darker finish taillamps. The 2018 CT6 introduced such features as Super Cruise, Rear Camera Mirror Washer for the Rear Camera Mirror, as well as an updated CUE infotainment system (to version 2.6).

For the 2019 model year, the CT6 receives a refresh, otherwise known as a facelift or mid-cycle enhancement (MCE, that includes revised exterior styling similar to that of the Escala concept, a new high-performance CT6 V-Sport model that was renamed to CT6-V, the new Cadillac 4.2L Twin-Turbo V-8 engine, a new trim level structure, and improvements to in-vehicle technology. In addition, the 2019 Cadillac CT6 gets the new GM 10-speed automatic transmission on all models, while the base model gets a new base engine in the form of the all-new 2.0L Turbo LSY engine, which replaces the last-generation 2.0L Turbo LTG.

The Cadillac CT6 is build at the following plants:
In addition, the CT6 Plug-In model was built at the SGM Jinqiao plant for all markets, including the United States. The CT6 Plug-In was discontinued in the U.S. after the 2018 model year.

In November 2018, GM announced plans to discontinue the CT6 in North America as part of a restructuring plan that will look to shutter various plants, including the Detroit-Hamtramck location. But in January 2019, Cadillac president, Steve Carlisle, and GM president, Mark Reuss, announced that the CT6 will not be discontinued. However, production will be moved from the Detroit-Hamtramck facility to another plant. Another possibility is that the CT6 will be imported from China, where it will continue being offered. However, Carlisle stated that this is the least desirable option. Related News & InfoGM new.

"Want a CT6 before it goes away"

Latest word is it isn't going away. Reports are Cadillac has done a 180 on discontinuing the CT6 so it may be sticking around. I hope. Want one of those CT6s with the detuned Blackwing at 500 HP with all season wheels/tires. 2021 MY please! Thanks.
