  • Ferrari portofino video review. One of the most under rated ferraris.

A strange fella doing the review slightly but a cool looking 2 plus 2.

gm would do well to consider this as a styling direction for the 7th gen camaro as the corvette c8 releases as a rear mid engine corvette.

forget the retractable hardtop though as its too expensive for the next gen camaro..

    otherwise wow!

As the corvette moves to rear mid engine in its 8 th generation...there is now room for the camaro to be styled like this ferrari portofino. From a performance perspective the zL1 pretty much matches the ferrari portofino..

now just style gms 2 plus 2 closer to the portofino and we have a sales winner ...

        Wikipedia: The engine, a 3,855 cc (3.9 L) F154BD twin-turbocharged V8, is the same as in the GTC4Lusso T, but yields a slightly de-tuned power output of 591 hp (441 kW; 599 PS) at 7,500 rpm and 560 N⋅m (413 ft⋅lb) of torque at 3,000-4,250 rpm.

        Kinda wimpy for ~$250,000, IMHO.

Well said JB! Yes please GM, stop making the Camaro look like you ran out of major ideas in the 1967’s. Compare a C7 to a C2 and you see massive changes. It is time for the Camaro’s next gen to be completely divorced from its roots, time for it to be come GM’s FWD beauty.

I would also do that trade. I would then trade the Portfino and get a ZR1 and ME plus have cash left over

Probably makes a lot of sense. Maintenance and insurance on both Corvettes combined would be far less than on the Ferrari.

But you're definitely getting more than just HP in the Ferrari.

Give me a ME Vette* over that Ferrari, any day.

Ever see the inside of a modern Ferrari? Makes the Vette look like a Yugo. Materials, build quality, design... Ditto the engine which is a piece of art, not something to hide under an acre of plastic.

Don't get me wrong, I love the vette, and it's the performance bargain of the century. But the Ferrari is simply a different class of car. .

Well if the seventh gen camaro evolved jnto an exterior design away from the retro theme or whatever the last mid cycle refresh is....into an exterior similiar to the ferrari portofino...I personally believe even with an interior similiar to todays 6 th gen camaro.....people would still flock to buy the vehicle at GM s msrp.

the inteior of ferraris are stunning...you are absilutely right...but the target audience is more influenced by the areas of performance, exterior design language and of course price..

the 60 grand 2018 ZL1 really does perform on par with the 215 grand ferrari portofino..

designing exterior sheet metal closer to a ferrariportofino shouldnt really be that much more expensive than what gm has done now?

how much extra could it cost....forgetting about the folding roof and the ultra beautiful leather interior ...

my kids messy anyway...lol oh but to look at that sheetmetal....

gm should at least consider it...

btw i dont hear any owner bitching about outward visability....(because its either not an issue in the ferrari or nobody who drives one gives a ****)

the portofino looks so sexy nobody cares...

All kidding aside as the c8 goes rear mid engine...it does allow for the camaro to evolve off its previous successful fifth gen design..

its always really about do consumers passionately desire that vehicle...especially in the soorts car or GT market...

the sixth gen as it released was hot, performed excellently...but it just didnt light up consumers to purchase...

now a seventh gen that looked like this...that would ligt up consumers to open up their wallets...

its funny in four or five years this 215 grand portofino will sell with low mileage for 100 grand...and todays ferraris finally are reasonably managable to service...

amd it has those two 15 minute rear jump seats...

i see and hear a couple of guys with the califonia at my health club lifetime,. Its a nice car...but the portofino...they just redesigned the lines ever so slightly that makes it a real stunning beauty...

gm would do well to mimic that for the seventh gen camaro...(without the folding hardtop and of course a less expensive interior)

just shooting the breeze and fooling around as GM would never listen to guys like me making a suggestion)

some woukd say its too risky...
