There is a second, really postive use of tin foil, and that is to prevent that highly annoying triple beep if you and your passenger both get into the car with your own key fobs. This started, was super annoying for us, on our C6 on long road trips (for we always carry two key fobs in case one is lost or broken). Got that annoying/ irritating sound repeatedly.

When we drove to NCM’s BASH, the wonderful GM Master Tech Paul Koerner was in his “Q&A” room — a place where anyone can walk in, wait a couple of minutes depending on line length, sometimes not at all, and ask him or his also super Smart Tech colleague Brittany George a question about an issue with their Corvette.

I walked in, walked up to Paul (no one else there at that time), and asked about how to disable that annoying triple beep when the second of us got into the car. You already know what this his answer was, e.g., aluminum foil, triple wrapped. Worked like a charm on our C6 and now on our C7.

He also mentioned a small Altoid metal box or equivalent...
