GM is no longer standing behind their service centers.(Today) 12/13/2018 Brought my 2015 Cadillac ATS 3.6 in for replacing a $345.65 Runflat because it had a screw in it and I didn't want any problem so agreed to pay up to replace it. Well they mangled the Chrome $530.99 Rim. The dealer offered $100 bucks and apologized. I said I can't get the rim fixed for that. Then the service manager came out and before he even looked at the rim he said we will not pay you anything because you curb rashed it. After he looked at it it was obvious there was no curb rash as the lip of the runflat overlaps the rim quite a bit. Anyway he said it is up to GM and gave me their number. I called GM. They said they have absolutely no say in what the independent dealerships chose to do and that I would have to deal solely with the dealership. This dealer knows I have 3 Cadillacs. ATS , ATS-V and CTS-V. I recalled GM and was told they will not intervene with the dealership and sorry they cannot help me. Last time I had my Cadillac CUE Screen go out on me , which is a well know Issue. I was forced to pay $1200 to replace the screen while the vehicle is still under warranty. I also had to pay $367.00 for a AGM Battery which is still under warranty. GM said similar , sorry we have no say in what the dealership decides and cannot help you. So sorry sir. Total BS. I am having second thoughts on ever purchasing anything from GM Again. I would love to purchase the ME Vette, But I'm ****ed.

Odd. Hardly makes sense for them to deal with an obviously very good client that way.
This makes no sense: "I was forced to pay $1200 to replace the screen while the vehicle is still under warranty."
"But I'm ****ed". Yea, no ****. Terrible.
Maybe the dealer should be shamed here on the forum.
This won't make you feel any better but when the three year old battery shorted on my XTSvsport, my dealer replaced it free of charge.Last edited by John; 12-13-2018, 06:30 PM.

OH YES --- Murphy Cadillac Melbourne Florida (Space Coast) Don't Ever purchase a vehicle from them or even have any service done there. They are not even competent of replacing a tire. I have to blame GM for not upholding their warranty as well.Last edited by Frenzy36; 12-13-2018, 06:31 PM.Rocket City Florida - 2013 427 Vert - 2015 ZO6 - 2020 Stingray

Feel bad for you however, there is a reason why they are referred to as a "store". GM will not help you in these types of matters. This may sound tough but it is just a fact------taking a 4 model year old car or even a new one to a Dealer for a tire repair not the best choice at least in the DFW area it is not..... GM does not warranty the tires--read your warranty it is clear.

Sorry about that unacceptable service. I would go into the Office of the General Manager and politely lay out the vehicles you have purchased from them, explain what just happened and see if he/she will intervene. If not...
If you paid for any part of the service via a credit card, appeal through your credit card company. Maybe a long shot, but perhaps. Then, you have an option of going through small claims court. Of course, I am not an attorney, just what I would try.
Good luck to you.2023 Z06: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, CCB’s, 3LZ, E60, and with every visible carbon fiber option order-able including wheels. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 24 year members of National Corvette Museum. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

What the heck do you mean "Dealer is not a tire specialist bottom line". - this is OEM, not custom rims/tires. A dealer can't be trusted to change a tire??

This is the exact reason why GM keeps loosing potential Corvette owners.
Anyone see the story about a recent Z06 owner brought theirs in for a software update, and the service tech got caught on PDR going for a joy ride doing twice the speed limit, crossing the center line - video is on youtube. GM said the same, doesn't get involved with local dealers.

Additionally note my comment it is easy to tell road rash as the Dealer claimed vs damage cause by the Dealer the OP claimed. Not tough to tell the difference.....Last edited by Busa Dave; 12-13-2018, 08:36 PM.

Exactly the same as what I do. Changing C7 tires is a challenging task, no just because they are run flats, but the way the wheel itself is shaped — and not talking only about its outer rim, but its barrel shape. Even Spring Mountain Motorsports Track, which changes tons of tires daily, has shared that with the best possible equipment available (which they have), and a super experienced crew, says changing them remains a challenge.
I hope that the C8 tires are much more easily changeable for us all.Last edited by John; 12-13-2018, 08:54 PM.2023 Z06: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, CCB’s, 3LZ, E60, and with every visible carbon fiber option order-able including wheels.
