2021 C8 LF DTRL Intermittently not working dea

r replaced LF headlamp assembly still having same issue been to dealer three times no success. Anyone heard about this issue

I recall someone else posting about having to have a headlight assembly replaced, and I think it had to do with the DRL. Let's see....

I can't find any other threads where someone had to replace a headlight. Sounds like your dealer should contact the GM tech line and get help troubleshooting the issue, since it's pretty obviously not the headlight assembly but something further upstream (wiring harness, computer chip, etc.)

Thank you for the link unfortunately the dealer did replace my headlight assembly as well but didn't fix the problem. I asked the service manager at the dealer if the tech tested the harness when he had it apart but didn't get a good answer. The dealership is Macmulkin Chevrolet which they claim they are the largest corvette dealer in the world. I did find someone else with the exact problem on YouTube he said his C8 has been in five times and now they are flying in someone from GM to troubleshoot. This problem seems to me to be troubleshooting 101 but the techs these days seem to be parts jockeys replace parts until fixed instead of actually knowing what is causing the problem. I started life out as a mechanic in a dealership in the 70's / 80's then went left the field and went to school in the IT field. Back when I was a mechanic we were required to troubleshoot down to the reason of a problem. I did figure out there's a circuit board which is the controller board for the DTRL but I don't know if it has independent control. Before I bring it back in I'm going to hard reboot the car and try to do some more troubleshooting on my own. Oracle sells an after market DTRL kit that changes the color of them which includes the circuit board controller which I'm might be forced to try if GM can't fix it https://www.oraclelights.com/products/c8-drl.

Is anyone aware of a way to reapply software and or firmware updates on the C8? I'm very suspicious that the issue is either a bad update or a faulty circuit board controller.

This is absolutely true. Most dealer techs are little more than parts swappers. I think that because GM pays for warranty parts, it's far more profitable for the dealer to just swap parts than to pay a tech for hours of troubleshooting time.

The dealer can reflash much, if not all, of the software on the car. But I'm sure they won't attempt that unless GM tells them to. There's a "reset" option in the Infotainment screen settings, but I believe that only affects user settings, not anything else.

Any updates the the situation? I just noticed today that my drivers side drl isn’t working. If I turn them off then on with the switch, it will start to light up but then goes back off.
