  • CBS and Directv squabble

Anyone else have Directv and blacked out CBS? looks like their contract squabble is going on a lot longer than expected. It's been a week now and to be honest , i really don't miss CBS lol this might backfire on CBS.

Yes, I lost the local CBS station recently and my local NBC has been gone since June.

For sports, I'm using the NBC Sports app. Not sure if CBS has an equivalent.

on directv or OTA? If OTA, I read that some NBC and other non-CBS locals have changed the frequency that they're transmitting on and having your tv/hd antenna re-scan all available channels fixed that.

And now Dish has lost Fox Sports Midwest. Can’t get the regional sports channels now.

Spoke with directv today about a different problem, and they offered to send me a free OTA HD antenna with an adapter that allows the antenna to be plugged into the main DVR/Genie. With it, you get the local channels guide injected back into the guide, you can watch the OTA channels without switching inputs, and you can record channels OTA on your DVR.

I guess directv figured out it was less costly to supply their customers with OTA antennas than to pay CBS $x/subscriber in a new contract.

Sad, and also not yet fixed for me either.

I'm in the same boat due to the DirecTV / Nexstar squabble since July4. Due to that, I'm missing ABC. I even tried buying an indoor/outdoor flat panel antenna that said good up to 100 miles......NOPE. Sent it back to Amazon as I couldn't get Harrisburg, Baltimore, or DC ABC channels even aiming outdoors with a compass.

In the meanwhile, I called their customer service loyalty dept saying I want to cancel my service......... they offered me $25 off per month for a year to keep me...... this is on top of the $55 OFF for a year ( may 2019) as I got tired of every time it rains that I loose service.

Pretty soon, they will be paying me... With 6 TV's in the house, I don't want to cancel and go to Comcast to get much faster internet than my DSL and Directv as it would cost me about $75 more per month for the first 2 years, then even more.

I can't stand how they have us by the short hairs....
