  • Looking for your garage queen Z06 trade in on your ME purchase - PSA

ok, first, mods please move this post to the appropriate area if this is not correct.

Now, this post is something I've been thinking on since all the ME furor erupted earlier this year. As the #1 corvette car salesman and a few local buddies (Twowinns and Linerboy) can attest, my bride has given me full approval to get a Z06. That wasn't too tough, since she's the one who got us into this corvette world 8 years ago with our first one, a 1978. So when we run around to shows, or our annual big bend race, she makes comments like, you need to get a Z06. Now to the point......

I don't have the budget for a new Z06 or ZR1 or ME.....but I am looking at the market as it changes with the ME.

As lots of you fine owners look to upgrade to the new mid engine version, a few of us will take our cue to upgrade to YOUR Z06. Yes the gorgeous car outside, in the garage or driveway that you will use to upgrade to your awesomely new and radical ME version. Congratulations.

Thus, can I please request that you keep yours garage kept, cleaned and waxed and low mileage if at all possible and not necessarily in that order. Please. Pretty please?

Assuming pricing is right for both parties......I would be happy for a Torch Red 3LT with the Z07 package as my first choice. After that, all bets are off cause the car is just too beautiful. Yellow? White? Blue? Silver? Long Beach red? Even yes black!

    PSA over.

Hell i was thinking the same thing...with new c7 z06 s being discounted so heavily maybe a lightly preowned c7 z06 is a smart play as well...

What color and options are you looking for?

I think the basic premise should start at m7 or A8..

then color and interior trim Level..

    then mileage

offer to do the in and out so the new c8 buyer saves the tax benefit...

usually five hundred to the c8 selling dealer and everyone is happy.

the c7 z06 is a hell of a tempting deal...

Yet rear mid engine with a dct is so tempting i think buying new will win out.

    smart post though...

be ready to do the in and out as thats the smart play for everyone involved

LOL you have seen and heard mine BUT not ready to sell yet! Will be a couple of years at minimum until the HP version of the C8 is released. Doubt you want to wait that long but someone will get a great deal when the time comes!

That would keep a super fast C7 still living in Texas!

For the guys trading in...they could make a few grand extra and still get the tax benefit....

the buyer of the preowned c7 could save a couple bucks off the dealers resale price on some c7s..

plus the buyer could possibly get financing and maybe a gmepp extended warranty too even if the car is out of original warranty..

          i think im not sure...

i like the gmepp warranty as a smart play if the pricing was close to what the forum vendors offer...

that would be a cool place to post up c7 s going in for trade and if people want to make a deal in and out at the upcoming c8delivery...it wouldnt be bad...

as great as the c7 s are....the rear mid engine c8 with 500 hp and a dct might just be quite the performance surprise..

i was just watching a porsche cayman gts with dct pull zero to sixty times of 3.4 seconds...

i think thats with 3100 lbs and 385 hp..

the c8 dct should clobber the little cayman gts pdk...

500 hp,500 lb/ft tq 3300 lbs dct with rear weight bias
