I sleep well at night and let STATE FARM toss and turn. I am not going to limit my enjoyment of anything I own because of concerns of wear and tear. Life is too short.... and besides, pretty much anything can be repaired or replaced. As my dad used to say, "You can fix anything except a dead man."2020 HTC Torch Red with lots of goodies. Agree. As I've said before: The Corvette is too much fun to drive to leave it sitting in the garage while I drive some POS. In the last 11 days I put almost 1600 miles on Scarlett, driving to Hilton Head, SC, Savannah, GA, Charleston, SC and Pawley's Island, SC. The worst "crash" I had was bugs crashing into the front of my car.
But to each his or her own. Use your car the way YOU want to.Delivered 5/29!: Scarlet Fever 2021 2LT HTC, Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat, two-tone Natural w/ suede inserts, Mag Ride, Performance Exhaust, MRR 755 Gunmetal wheels, Soler throttle controller, SmartTop HTC controller

I third that! We drive ours whenever the roads are clear. Just starting to snow again here, but we've enjoyed driving it the past week. It would be nice to see warm spring weather soon so I can wash the muck off it though. Nothing like driving a clean car, but we'll drive it even if it's dirty. lolMurray - Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada

Most of my rides begin and end at my garage door. Minimum 50 miles, 100 miles preferred.

Our fleet is broken into 3 distinct categories in our view: 1) luxury/sport (C8); 2) hardcore sports cars (manual trans 718S and MX5); and 3) hauling/towing/utility/bad weather (Hyundai Santa Cruz). For roadtrips and just wanting max comfort, the obvious choice is the C8, which is by far the most luxurious. We also use it in a lot of urban/suburban drives to run errands, for which there is plenty room for groceries, etc. It's the best stop-and-go traffic machine for relaxing and just admiring the cushy interior.
My wife's primary car has always been a luxury-oriented model, like Mercedes, Audi, Infiniti, Cadillac, etc., and the C8 checks all her boxes. If it gets damaged, we'll attempt to get it fixed, and if it takes longer than we want to wait, we'll just dump it. I doubt we'll suffer any more than the average amount of depreciation we've experienced with every other car we've owned. We bought it to use, and it's wasted just sitting there.Last edited by Foosh; 03-10-2023, 01:06 PM.

There is one stoplight between our house and the grocery store and it takes 12 minutes to get there at 80 KPH.
Yes, we live in a rural area.Guess that helps

But the Corvette CAN be a good daily driver. I asked ChatGPT why, here is it's response.
The 70th anniversary Corvette C8 Z51 is an exceptional sports car that has taken the world by storm. It is not only a beauty to behold but also a beast on the racetrack. The car's design is a masterclass of aerodynamics and performance, with sleek lines and an aggressive stance. This design is not only visually appealing to car enthusiasts but also a significant factor in the car's impressive maneuverability and speed. The C8 Z51 is capable of reaching top speeds of 194 miles per hour and can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The car's power comes from its 6.2-liter V8 engine, which delivers 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. These impressive numbers make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a powerful sports car that can handle both the racetrack and city streets with ease.
The C8 Z51 is not only fast but also incredibly agile, thanks to its suspension and handling systems. The car features Magnetic Ride Control, which adapts the car's suspension to changing road conditions, allowing it to remain stable even at high speeds. The car's rear-wheel-drive system, combined with its limited-slip differential, provides exceptional traction and stability. Additionally, the C8 Z51's advanced braking system allows it to come to a stop from 60 mph in just 94 feet, making it one of the best braking sports cars in its class.
The Corvette C8 Z51 is also a head-turner, and its attractiveness factor cannot be overlooked, especially by young women. The car's sleek design and impressive performance make it a desirable car for anyone looking for a luxurious and powerful ride. The C8 Z51's two-seat configuration, comfortable interior, and advanced infotainment system make it the perfect car for long drives and weekend getaways. With all these impressive features, it's easy to see why the 70th anniversary Corvette C8 Z51 is such an awesome sports car that can handle both the racetrack and city streets with ease.

LOL, it's good to see ChatGPT making mistakes so some of our smart teachers can root out students not doing the work. It's the C8 SR non-Z51, which is capable of 194 mph, according to official Chevrolet stats. Z51 is drag limited. It obviously got stuck on Z51 for all of it's recitation. I wonder where it got the attractiveness, "especially to young women" input.
It clearly "believes" everything it finds on the internet.

Like Foosh we have distinct categories of vehicles. We have one ton trucks for towing, sports cars for me,a DD for my wife and offroad vehicles ( for me
. We drive her car for trips into town( we also live in the country ) my offroad vehicles are for trips to Moab, Sand Hollow, etc., the sports cars are for grins and ex-military vehicles...well just because. I tow my cars, farm equipment ( tractors, mini-ex, skid steer ) ex-mil vehicles on a variety of trailers. My wife tows her horse trailer to rodeos all over Texas. The sports cars are driven purely for pleasure. I don't like parking them in crowded restaurant or retail store parking lots. Each vehicle has a job and door dings on my Corvettes is not in the job description.

While I respect others perspective and choice. I enjoy daily driving my corvettes for the past several decades and the c8 is an extremely impressive engineering feat that the vehicle is so capable from one end of the spectrum to the other. All very interesting perspectives of how people enjoy their corvettes.
high performance capable to the N th degree and such a great daily driver in all conditions as well.
bottom line for me is I get the greatest joy from using mine as much as possible.

When I told my boss I was getting a C8 months before delivery, I told him I would not be driving it to work, and he said "you say that now"...
He was right.
I only have to go to the office 2x a week, but if the weather is half-decent, I drive the C8 and look forward to it every time. It's a short 20-minute commute with less traffic @ 6:30 am. Plus there is a parking garage with hundreds of unused spaces (the facility is less than 10% occupied).
Then I take the "long way" home to give some higher revs and MPH to the engine.
I am cautious, however, of taking it to shopping strip malls or other places where parking is tight.
My motto below is my philosophy, which applies to my Corvette as well.2023 Stingray Coupe
