  • Repairing snags in the "suede" interior?

My least favorite cat snuck into my C8 while I was cleaning the windshield and before I knew it I heard scratching sounds from the b-pillar area on the passenger side.

Does anyone have experience with products or techniques to help restore the formerly smooth appearance?

Sorry to hear that. Sorry but I also now noting about repair. If not repairable, it is a snap in (hidden clips) replacement friendly?

I have not watched this but perhaps it could be useful. I hope so.

John, thanks for finding that video but I must admit that much cutting and gluing might be outside of my comfort zone. I might see what our friend Nick at Autowerx can do to help cover this up.

I was close to shaving it down with a razor blade, but before that happens I'm adding a picture just in case someone sees this and has a better idea.

Thats tough. I got no advice how to fix it. We try to avoid such instances with our little kitty. Wife trims her front claws regularly.

You're approaching it right. Don't want to do more harm. Take your time and get the right fix.

Sometimes just a Bic Lighter may work fairly well as it usually shrinks - just have to be careful to just get it really warm and not burn it. Also try a heat gun if you have one. Could have been much worse. Your idea with a new razor blade will probably do the trick also.

I wonder if one of those sweater shavers for removing the little fuzz ***** from certain knit sweaters would cut those off, or even reduce them to a tolerable level. Wish I had a picture of one to show, but they have a circular shaving head with BB sized holes, and a rotating blade inside to cut the yarn off.

Google seems to think they are called fabric shavers and there are quite a few hits about using one to de-pill alcantara. I like this way more than my proposed gillette shaver approach, Nice idea!

While shopping for fabric shavers I stumbled across something called a cashmere sweater comb. Less spinning blades and much easier to control the area of application.

After one pass, things are looking much better. Not perfect, but better.
