FWIW, while I have no recommendation on what to buy, I do have a recommendation on what NOT to buy: McKee's37 Turbo Car Dryer. Clunky, and awkward to use and of dubious effectiveness. My Makita Li-Ion powered leaf blower works better.

I bought Adam’s Air Cannon, used it once and returned it.

My wife’s GLE 53 AMG is a mid size SUV and it took me 20 minutes to dry it. I’m not patient enough and not a guy who enjoys washing or fussing around my cars. I was so frustrated in setting the breaker and using the blower at 80% power I didn’t even wash the C8.

This blower needs a 100% dedicated circuit.

The nozzle is small and it takes forever to blow the water off the car. Good soft flexible hose and soft nozzles. Looks to be well built so I wouldn’t discourage anyone from buying one as long as you have a dedicated circuit.

Im using a deionizer to avoid spots but need a blower that works larger areas like the Ergo blower. I like the “stubby” attachment. Worried about them being hard plastic so would want to find a way to have a soft tip in case I touched the paint. You would think the Ergo engineers would recognize the secondary use of their blowers and produce a soft nozzle tip?

The C8 and the AMG are being ceramic coated this week so I’m expecting a faster drying time but going to try the Ergo.

Since this thread was resurrected, I have an update.

Bought a Milwaukee cordless leaf blower just because all my other tools use the Milwaukee system and it was on sale Be sure to have more than 1 battery charged up. It eats them up so have a couple ready to go if doing 2 cars.

Blower is awesome. Takes just a few minutes to push the water off both our cars.

I pay attention to the nozzle and have not hit the car yet but would love to find a soft tipped nozzle.

Lastly, both cars have a full Ceramic Coating and what a difference it makes.

You all talk like you're washing a semi...a gentle wipe down with lots of clean microfiber towels does the trick and doesn't scare the dog with the jet blast!

Love my BigBoi I bought from Esoteric Detail. Especially that is has a soft, flexible tip for those inevitable soft-touch rare mistakes.

I put my compressor up from the ground. I force it to wear a Corvette t-shirt😎 to filter the air at the air inlet. Power can be adjusted.

To me a dedicated air-dryer is not really necessary unless you need more stuff in your garage.

Am I missing something?! I know not all people have a compressor but I like to believe a lot of people mulling over if they need something as specific as an air dryer also have a compressor.

Just my $0.02 but then again I might not be as well versed with regard to the new type of air dryers??

We have seen some super honest posts by members on earlier, different threads stating that they have messed up rarely but it happened, that the tip of the blowing tool they used touched their car. With your ingenuity, one could probably fabricate an “add-on” soft tip. I am here coming out of the closest and say I too messed and since our C8 was a black car, thankfully the BigBoi has a soft tip, e.g., no paint scuffing occurred.

For some of us, yes having a dedicated air dryer is one of our self-determined necessary tools. Mine fits just fine inside of a cabinet.

I hav the Bi6 Boi sold exclusively by Esoteric Detail. I really like it especially that its end is soft and squish-able, for every honest one of us will admit that at some time in the past we screwed up and hit the paint with that end. Many other MECF members have it too and rave about it also.

As I mentioned earlier, we have the Adams air cannon and love it. The only complaint I have is the inability to turn the heated air feature off when using it on a hot day. It gets very warm during the summer when drying the car, but is nice in the winter when it's cold outside.

For those of you that have other brands, does yours have the ability to turn off the heating element? It would be a great feature.
