Best DIY tool was my Metal Lathe. First big tool I bought years back. Paid $1800 for it and by the second month we owned it, we had done over
$ 12,000 worth of work for racing friends. Almost seemed like a business,,,,,,

Congratulations! There’s something totally foreign to me, e.g., buying a tool and making anything from it.

Rest assured, we also made mistakes and threw expensive metal in the garbage can. It was the start of a great learning process. Later on, we bought the milling machine and continued on the adventure

The Ctek MUS 4.3 battery tender. One for the garage, the other for the 12 volt power system, powered by a large AGM battary, in my amateur radio station. I find an automotive Ctek to be superior to the chargers marketed for amateur radio use, and a lot cheaper as well.
