  • New round of mods!

Since getting a new C8 Z06 is not in the cards I decided to play with my C7Z06's some more.

Just received The Cooler bleeder. Doing another round of mods and hope get re-tuned on better fuel.
The cooler bleeder is a must for top performance with the C7Z06.
it ensures you remove all the air from the inter-cooler system . Even the dealer has trouble getting the air out this system gets in all out.

Bought two of the 5 inch BIG GULP intakes (127 mm) also arrived which raises the efficiency of the supercharger better MPG and more power. Then re tune both cars on better fuel.

Might need true slicks to hook up with your upcoming improvements. Good luck!

According to my researches and sources the air bubbles are what lead to the change in the intercooler etc because it was simply the cars that overheated on the track was simply due to improper or incomplete bleeding of the system of air bubbles .

Your new mod sounds like it will eliminate that concern. Smart mod!

Curious as to what you have purchased. I acquired a 2015 ZO6 with only a thousand miles on it and will be driving it in a few months.

This is what I found on the issue. I have a Manual Trans so I am hoping it will be fine. Seems the issue was with the automatic's.

Juechter told Motor Authority that Chevrolet made continuing improvements to the Z06 for the 2017 model year to rectify the cooling problem, so the issue should only affect the 2015-2016 model year cars. We reported on the fix at the time, but Juechter shared more information about the problem. He said the issues were mostly with cars equipped with the automatic transmission, so his team changed the automatic transmission calibration and upgraded the cooling system.

The cooler bleeder is made by a Corvette owner who made more people aware of the issue and made a system that works even the dealer has problems getting all the air out. The inter-cooler tank can even come from the factory with too much air. When running the car and the inter-cooler pump catches an air bubble then cavitates the air temps rise quickly causing timing to pulled. The cooler bleeder gets the air out of the system.

I hear that John, I have slicks for the track they need heated up like the MPSS tire does. I have a drag pack of Micky Thompson's on forged wheels ready to go.
I get better traction than the bone stock Z06 car or ZR1 on the street since I'm lighter weight tune is different too.
Tuner likes to delay the valve timing a bit think it is part of his fantastic tunes.
672 rwhp mustang dyno numbers on my now sold 2015 was more than a hand full for other cars.
I mash it slower using my educated foot. I tend to hold back a bit off the line use enough pedal feeling for traction watching the other car just to sort of stay up with them rather try all out and over power and blow the traction.

Not worried if I can go around them that has never failed me for a long time since before my C5 Z. I seem to do well I never worry about traction on the highway. I don't race off the line unless I'm at the track.

I have a recipe for the C7Z06 the cost is only about 8k (less new wheels) the net is about 125 rwhp over stock while running cooler plus your car drops about 65 pounds off the front since then I saved another 30 pounds plus
with Forgeline GA1R which I think is a very sharp wheel I did order the AR1 as well both are very sharp.

Back to the power mods. 2300 Magnuson blower kit built for the lt4. (4200.00) You can buy the 2650 but it costs more and is better suited for over 800-950 wheel more costly builds.
(But these can out run even a Telsa plaid) The 670-800 wheel range the 2300 is a very strong runner lighter, packs a punch, runs very cool and easier to install than the 2650 plus allows more room as well. Comes in 3 pulley sizes from 13.6 to 16-17 pounds of boost. Each pulley is cheap and easy to change but you likely need to the tune looked at to add at other than tuning time.
Comes in a box which 40 pages of very sweet color instructions in a booklet. No reason to let anyone else do it . A real nice DIY job. About 12 hrs first time about half that the second and third times.
Same with the ARH 2 inch jethot ceramic coated headers 2 inch ARH headers w/ x pipe w/cats. 6 years now on 1 set pipes still look new. Transferred from 1 car to the other.
ZR1 Ported 95 mm TB about 180 dollars. Big gulp 127 mm Intake (5inch) (629) Mighty Mouse Catch a must have if you know the C7. He designed them for the car what everyone missed. Use a 95 MM TB adaptor plus Ngk 7 plugs.
I also picked up a cooler bleeder for maximum performance.
Port out and match the MAGGY snout with a 2 inch sanding roll on a drill. Halltech tric sealed unit directs grill air to the airbox adds proven boost at speed. I use non ethanol premium with these mods I'm adding 2 1/2 gallons 109 octane to each tank to use at the tune for the tuner and will add this to each tank for about 94/95 octane fuel.

Looking for 720/675 Hp//Tq at the wheel this time w/ 15 pounds of boost.
Shooting for this on the low boost pulley. The 5 inch intake with ported a TB should be more efficient. I even added the DSC shock controller so I can tune my mag ride for max traction. 3324 curb weight with a little over 1/4 tank.
Very fast combo that gets 28mpg doing 80 mph. I'm adding new R888's for them as well they do the best. Another 5k or so going in the 2 cars. A 720 Mac is one I want to race.
Not many can keep up with this car.

Well just call it the Corvette C7Z06 lightweight. Sorta like Porsche offers a turbo 911 light where they removed weight and bumped the power for price the car is much improved. Same thing here. But the Lt 4 is the most robust ever. Mighty Mouse C7Z06 still running stock block crank and all pushes over 2000 hp and just ran like a prostock car at 7.8 @ 176 mph 1/4 mile
                    don't know what beats that!

My neck muscle hurts just reading about a 7.8 @ 176 in the quarter. Whiplash for sure for me. Those are amazingly impressive numbers.

I have more things lined up to finish getting ready for the tuner. Test fitting the intake. I needed a 5 in by 5 in coupler for the 5 inch I.D. intake. They sent 3 inch by 5 couplers but the test fit needs a 5 by 5 inch due to the aftermarket blower TB position. Have 1 5 inch piece 12 inches long on the way. I'll cut to fit and make two.
Needed fittings for the Cooler Bleeder they are coming tomorrow. Should be all ready by the end of the month.
