Great article. I really like that every time the Porsche comes out ahead on comparable model years/options it's double or more the price. The top two, the 2019 ZR1 at 140k second only to the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Weissach at 332k.

Is it REALLY worth spending 2.5 times as much (or nearly 192k) in order to gain 1.7 secs around VIR?

Not in my mind. Being that our base model 2020 is up there in the 10 I'm really looking forward to seeing what the Eray, Z06, and Zora can put down.

I'll take the C7 Z06 any day all day. Just because it is the best engine ever made by GM just need to replace the tiny stock blower. Then with the HUGE aftermarket and the ability to easily tune it. Just choose the right mods it will do anything the ZR1 car can do at less expense and at a lighter weight platform and still using the best engine to date from GM. This also is true to compare about any other car as well! The robust lt4/lt5 can do over 1000 hp and not break. It also can do it at a cost less than the 3 lt interior on the C8.
Making it a legend! The stock car is just the base these cars love the mods . I run around at 800 hp on pump gas at temps cooler than stock and maybe 850 or more on 104 octane
with 16 pounds of boost very very few cars can keep up to be honest something even the New Z06 will not roll with on the highway.

Mods are always fun yet stock for stock these are still shocking to believe the levels right from the factory.

thanks for sharing your imsights. GM engineers 300k mile validation process has always impressed so many of us.

Some would suggest the validation process is where the headroom comes from for those who choose to mod

For my lifestyle (for me) i personally prefer the durability vs performance balance GM corvette engineers deliver. This c8; is so quick under 80 i m really impressed. Of course its new and time does eventually jade us all...but for right good.

these corvettes are gas oil and tires and go.
