Thank you Vigilance247. Renting a Hertz Z06 would make a vacation or other special activity incredibly exciting.

Unfortunately, the Z06’s immense power in the hand of a marginally skilled driver, especially in questionable weather, is going to be a difficult situation. I had had 500+ HP vehicles before getting our C7 Z06, and despite driving about 2,000,000 miles without a chargeable accident, I felt I needed to go to Spring Mountain to learn how to handle the car’s 650 HP/650TQ. After going, I felt/feel totally comfortable with it, but for a person who has never driven more than a 180 HP SUV or sedan, I too am concerned about how that Hertz Z06 rental will turn out.

Ill have to arrange a rental at these ridiculously low prices..199 a day is like a free corvette...249 is as well.

turo is quite a bit more a day...

hertz is giving this thing away..

          they offeeed in the past..

not sure too many want a manual as a rental and the lack of knowledge on how to drive a stick shift probably promted that feature for the hertz z06.

im not a big fan of the color or stripe but for this price who cares..

          it ll be a hoot.

From the look of the picture, it's missing the front spoiler and side rockers. I guess Hertz doesn't want to incur the replacement costs when renters trash them.

Hertz 100th Anniversary Edition Corvette Z06s

Here's an update to this story. Hertz is now selling these Z06s for more than you can buy a new one for. Why would anybody buy a used rental Z06 for more than what a new one can be had for?

Hertz selling its used 100th anniversary Chevrolet Corvette Z06s for $90,000 and more

"The rental car company ordered 100 of the 650 hp sports cars last year and will soon be offering them for resale at a price higher than you’d pay for a brand new one."

Doesn't make much sense Boomer. "I bought this from Hertz" is not really a badge of honor.

Yeah, I've seen them try to sell used C6 & C7's like they were some kind of special edition for more than avg. book values. Like said, if anything, they are worth less $.

Isn't it obvious? It's because they've been broken-in right, with boatloads of TLC from the dozens of drivers. ;-)

I can imagine renting one in Las Vegas and scorching an empty Nevada highway. But renting one in New York City?

I can imagine what kind of shape these cars will be in when Hertz goes to sell them at the end of their rental lives.

Maybe this is how GM is going to unload a number of those 9000 cars hanging around dealer lots.

Actually not a bad idea - instead of a test drive before buying at dealer, they should rent demos for a day/weekend, then when you turn it in and are interested, they could apply your rental fees to a purchase.

It almost sounds like a deal our M & B Luxury Car Sales affiliate would offer. Scoop em up while they last! For a mere grand more we will embroider your new (to you) Z06 with our patented yellow Hertz logo!

Ones not sold are a business expense. They are probably distributed to people.
