Is it really 282 days.?

Way less than that, now at 97 days supply. [Source: einventorynow.com.]

And with the Plant closing down for the C8 re-tooling sometime this fall we believe, having a 97 day supply going into summer is not a problem number. Inventory also is declining as they are recently selling more than they are making, now down to 8,000 in inventory.

~First, the large top 5 dealers are still selling an incredible amount of new 2019 Corvettes and ordering a lot for stock to not only sell but to obtain C8 allocation. I ordered 29 Corvettes for inventory just the other day.
We need to be prepared for two dates: 1st-June 24th-July 7th the Corvette Plant closes for Summer vacation and 2nd-The Plant will most likely close for two months minimum this Fall to retool for the 8th Generation Corvette. So let's say we don't see a 2020 C8 until Feb 2020...and I (Criswell) am selling 40-50 new Corvettes per month...that means we need to have at least 8 months of 2019 inventory. Inventory control, especially Corvette inventory control is an Art form all in itself. When I was a General Mgr for 23 years I actually
made the dealership money by controlling inventory levels to turn every 90 days.
Right now, the big dealers want inventory and are dealing from strength whereas the smaller dealers are dealing from weakness and won't load up on inventory. But that's a whole 'nother lesson.
