Corvettes don't suffer traffic gladly, and that's only partially the Corvette's problem. Driving one in a world of speed limits and inattentive Prius drivers requires major restraint. It's all too easy to get irritated by left-lane dawdlers when the Corvette starts whispering evil things like: "Just pass them on the shoulder. Don't be a wuss. Do it. I thought you could drive." Fight the temptation and both the Grand Sport and Z06 are safe for daily use, providing shockingly composed ride quality for something that will pull more than 1.00 g. Quiet the active exhaust and you can unwind huge distances with blissful ease. We put both of them on our list this year because they represent the best balance of performance and price in the Corvette universe.
2023 Z06: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, CCB’s, 3LZ, E60, and with every visible carbon fiber option order-able including wheels. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 24 year members of National Corvette Museum. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Thank you for reporting although I am surprised they left out the standard stingray which is also an amazing vehicle.

car and driver award is excellent none the less.

    thanks for sharing John

Good to hear. Thanks, John. I am curious to see how the the SupremeCarCourts renders its opinion in The case of Cayman Vs. C8 on claims of handling, balance and road-carving, around this time next year.

        Cayman dead on arrival...(kidding)

fine car but in many ways clearly outclassed by the c7 grand sport...

the c8 z51 fe4 should take that win even further.

of course we will still jear about the porsche mystique and attention to detail within tje interior that no other manufacturer on the planet can equal...

track times at say VIr will be no contest...

interior quality or rather percieved quality will probably put the german brand just ever so slightly ahead of the c8 in 1LT amd 2 LT form...

3LT probably almost levels the playing field with the exception of......(take your pick) it will be something minute.

We like, like, like our C7. It has been near flawless.

I agree they even had it in my favorite color ever on the C7 Z06 which is the Watkins Gray glad I have a nice example.

"Don't be a wuss. Do it. I thought you could drive." This is the evil angel that sits on my shoulder almost every day! This is the voice I succumb to "every once in a while".

With only 1300 miles on our `19 Grand Sport (and two days at Spring Mountain), I have complete faith in the car to get me out of tight traffic situations. If the situation requires acceleration, braking or steering or all three, I am comfortable with this amazing Corvette.

You won't let me merge? Unleash those horses (460) and their earth-shaking roar (NPP)!
