A small windfall has come my way, and tomorrow I am going to pay off the balance on my 2015 Z51 roadster car loan.

I will drive it a couple of more years before moving up to the C8. The Morbidly Thrifty gene I inherited from my father, combined with the skepticism of now model reliability gene also inherited from my father, causes me to wait until model year 2 at least, when I will be looking for a C8 convertible, hopefully at less than MSRP, that I can apply my over $3000 legacy GM card reward to. and any other incentives that may come into being.

Every little bit helps. Nothing wrong with waiting for a while to insure you are comfortable with what you are buying. I love the GM rewards program, having already used it to save $13,750 on our earlier Corvettes; we will have $2,250 from it to apply to our C8’s price. Nice that it does not hurt the dealer at all; every dealer I have dealt with in this program, has been excited for my having the ability to further reduce the Corvette’s purchase price.
