2023 Corvette Info Including SR Pricing, SR 2023 Visualizer, 70th Anniversary SR/Z06 Press Release; The C8 Z06 Press Release, Order Guide & Its Visualizer Link
Black chrome powder coat. Shown with the best color too bad they discontinued it!
Sitting on my 120 Acre's that will be a housing subdivision in the next 2 years. First home is going up.
Thanks Brad for getting a pictorial of these four Driver Editions for those who were not at the BASH (and for those of us who were). Well done!
Z06 coming late this summer: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, complete high wing/aero package. CCB’s, with every piece of visible carbon fiber available. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 24 year members of National Corvette Museum. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Nice pics, but they just confirm black wheels are not for me.
My gearhead wife and I are not black wheel fans either. However, we found a great compromise that we truly love, and that is the machined rim edge but painted Spectra Gray Metallic wheels on our Z06. Since the leaked C8 specs list Spectra Gray again, we will probably go that way. The things that especially appeal to us are the machined, bright metal edge around the outside of the wheel, gives a great visual demarcation between where the wheel ends and the tire begins (which personally we feel is some a black wheel/black tire combo is lacking). Second, the Spectra Gray Metallic is a nice dark color, yet has lots of metallic and looks (again to us), more exciting, more alive, than a black wheel.
Here are those SGM wheels on our car. Again, we have not made a final decision for our ME, but right now they are the “leading contender.”

I agree
Black wheels look great alone, but once the tire is added to the equation it becomes difficult to see the details of the wheel and visually fades to the background. The machined lip and or face provides that separation and draws the eyes to the wheels details. Another thing I don't like is how with all black, unless you really like messing with tire dressing all the time, the tire always looks gray or faded out compared to the wheel.
Mike Furman asked Harlan at the BASH, as the four of us including Brad66, were standing around talking about our favorite subject before the event began. Harlan said that 60 have been sold.
BTW, Mike delivered one early today, and sent another one this week to CA to another one of his customers.

Since 2019 is the 66th year of Corvette production and we will be returning home via Route 66 after the Caravan, I have unofficially dubbed our `19 Grand Sport convertible the "Route 66 Edition". That probably won't be validated by GM any time soon.
You could have custom made badges that are nice and tasteful, that would declare it that.
