[VIDEO] Corvette Driver Facing Charges After Fleeing Police and Crashing into Two Other Vehicles

The driver of this white C7 Corvette coupe faces several charges in Miami, Florida after fleeing from police and slamming into two other cars early Wednesday.

The incident started when police received a call around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday about an armed robbery at the Edison Terrace apartment complex on NW 56th Street, with the 911 caller saying that three men were holding a gun to the head of another man.

“We were able to get a description of the (escape) vehicle, which was a white Corvette,” Miami Police Department Officer Michael Vega told reporter Trent Kelly of Local 10 ABC News. “As our units attempted to stop this vehicle, the vehicle took off.”

Just a few blocks away, the Corvette first struck a car, causing that car to spin out of control and ram into a nearby building, then slammed into a third vehicle yards away.

“Based on the speed (the Corvette was) traveling,” Vega said, “it looked like they might have ran the red light.”

The crash left the Corvette driver with critical injuries, and he had to be transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center where he is in stable condition. His passenger ran away from the crash, and the third man believed to have been involved in the earlier armed robbery never got inside the Corvette and also remains at large.

The driver of the second car that crashed into the building and left a gaping hole in the side of the empty store front is in stable condition at North Shore Medical Center. The driver of the third car was treated at the scene and did not have to go to a hospital.

As for the Corvette driver, he’s under arrest and will face multiple charges, including fleeing police and driving with a suspended license. He could face more charges if he can be linked to the alleged armed robbery, but police say right now they have been unable to find the alleged victim of that robbery.

“We don’t know yet if the (Corvette) is stolen,” Vega said. “We do know that it is possibly a rental vehicle.”

If a stupid driver want to injure or kill themselves, fine with me, but putting others’ lives at risk is not acceptable. IMO, time to double or triple consequencess on those who flee in their vehicles, and who consequently potentially risk innocents.
Enjoying my Shadow gray C8. What a car it is.
