Thanks to CorvetteBlogger, we have this one year anniversary video of the ferrying of 20 ZR1’s from Detroit to Spring Mountain. Why? Just for fun and because.... Before SMRR puts a car onto the track, it must be 1,500 street miles on it, so this caravan would be a great way for this to happen. And of yes, gas station hot dogs — for it was a road trip. Video link at the bottom.

It was a year ago that a group of 20 Corvette ZR1s left Detroit for the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain.
Before Corvettes see action on the track, it’s important they are properly broken in. All Corvettes at Spring Mountain are driven 1,500 miles before they see any track time. And with the drive from Detroit to Pahrump being 2,300 miles, this road trip was a great way to get those miles in.
We heard about this caravan last year and actually posted this report on the ZR1 caravanafter photos of the cars traveling down the highway went public.
Corvette Racing ambassador Ron Fellows and his two sons were part of the crew to make the drive and they documented the experience in this fantastic video.

This is no joke! One year ago we completed a 3 day drive from Detroit, MI to the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School in Pahrump, NV (approximately 2300 miles). My sons Sam & Patrick documented our trip and put together this cool video. Enjoy!
