Thank you Vigilance247! Great find and post. That will be a great option for 25 C7 owners. I do have a question about the GM 36,000 mile powertrain warranty. I wonder if it still holds. The manual transmission that will come with the car, for example, was only originally tested and certified by GM to 738 foot pounds of torque. While the ZR1 skates under that level, the 850 TQ that I believe I read somewhere will be part of this package, clearly does not comply. And what if the motor blows up on day 2? Not saying it will, for SVE is an outstanding organization, but what if???

I did the math, and over $150,000 is a lot of money.

More details from Road and Track:

In the 1960s, Pennsylvania dealer Yenko Chevrolet became famous for offering big-block Camaros before even Chevy itself did. The dealership closed in the early 1980s, but the name lives on with pride in cars like this, the 2019 Yenko/SC Corvette Stage II. It's the creation of Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) in Tom's River, New Jersey, and with 1000 hp and 875 lb-ft of torque on tap, it's thoroughly ridiculous.

Oh, and you can order it at your local Chevy dealer.

To create the Yenko Corvette, SVE starts with a 2019 Corvette Grand Sport equipped with the optional Z07 Package. David Hamburger, vice president at SVE, told me the Grand Sport provides the perfect base for these upgrades, since it offers everything that comes on a Z06, minus the supercharged LT4 engine.

Starting with the naturally aspirated LT1 of the Grand Sport makes sense, too, as SVE installs its own 2.9-liter supercharger. The block is bored and stroked to 6.8-liters, the standard cylinder heads are replaced with modified LT4 pieces, and forged internals are employed for maximum durability. It's all blue-printed too. Yenko also updates the fuel and exhaust systems, and fits a bigger throttle body.

"It's an absolute animal," Burger told me. "From the factory, Corvettes are still kind of iffy to drive, but throwing 1000 horsepower at it, you really have to be on your game."

You can apply these upgrades to either manual- or automatic-transmission Grand Sports, though the latter requires extensive upgrades that drive the costs up. The Yenko Stage II package adds $69,000 to the cost of a manual-transmission Z07-equipped Grand Sport, while it's an extra $78,000 if you want it with an automatic. Our advice? Get the manual.

Yenko S/C Corvettes can be ordered through GM dealers that work with SVE. Once you place the order, Chevy will drop-ship a Grand Sport to SVE's New Jersey facility, where the modifications are performed. About a month later, the car is ready.

Unfortunately, these upgrades aren't emissions-legal in California, though SVE will sell you an 835-hp Stage I Yenko Corvette that's compliant.

And don't hesitate if you haven't heard of Specialty Vehicle Engineering before—you probably know it by its previous name, Street Legal Performance (SLP). In the 1990s, SLP helped develop the fourth-generation Camaro SS, and built the Firehawk for Pontiac.

Obviously, this voids the GM powertrain warranty that comes with a new Corvette Grand Sport, but SVE provides a three-year/36,000-mile warranty for the supercharger assembly, and a one-year/12,000-mile warranty for the upgraded automatic transmission.

SVE only plans on building 25 of each the Stage I and Stage II versions, so get to your local Chevy dealer soon if you want one.

Just learned a little more about the warranty on this beast, thanks to Road and Track.

I sure do not see the motor other than the SC, nor the clutch, half shaft, the differential nor many more expensive parts as being covered by the SVE warranty. Maybe that is irrelevant for those 25 buyers.

I am goin to contact them about the "All new for 2019 is our optional Heavy-duty Automatic transmission upgrade" I need that for my car now... Would love to get that done!!!!!!

Doubt they are offering it as a stand alone but it never hurts to ask. Up to now was not aware of a "HD kit" for the higher HP cars.....

Love the black and white color combo - and the classic Yenko decals sure are cool. Not sure it’s worth the the extra money though. I might have to eat those words 25 years from now... Awesome car regardless.
