A8 vs M7 Comp seats vs GT's

Getting lots of experience with the C7's IMHO! After 7 other Corvettes the C7 Z06 is the best Corvette yet. The C7 Z06 is my favorite Corvette ever after now owning my 10th Corvette.

I am driving around C7 number 4 1 Z/51, 3 Z06's. All soon will supercharged with aftermarket kits.

2 Corvette's with comp seats 2 with GT seats. 1 A8 3 M7's. After over 50k of driving in comp seats I find the GT seats are more comfortable but the comps are not uncomfortable . You sit slightly higher up in the GT's than in the comp seats. The comps look far better and feel good though.

My A8 was just finished to the 800 hp level. After driving both the M7 and the A8 at the 800hp level. The A8 becomes the beast with the lower ratio gears becoming more evident.
With 800 hp the A8 becomes ridiculously hypercar quick. The M7 is fast too just handi capped by being a manual and the gearing . But the M7 remains worth having and is more involving and fun to drive. If I had to own just 1 car it would still be the manual.

The GT vs Comp seats is a long term difference of opinion to many. It was however nice to see, for I believe the first time, a person who has owned both and spent a lot of time in each, comment on their differences to them. Thank you 3Z06ZR1;

Body type/shape is certainly a major determinant as to which one is preferable, yet I have found, reading 10+ Lengthy, sometimes strong-difference-threads over the last four years, that there truly are no generalities, for some of body type X love the GTs, yet are uncomfortable in the Comp seats; yet the reverse is also true.

My recommendation to all is that if at all possible, to sit in each for a 20 minute period of time and feel how they work for you personally.

Another influential factor when comparisons between the GT and Comp seats is intended use. With HPDE’s, Autocross or other very aggressive driving, IMHO, the Comp seats significantly out perform the GT’s. If the Vette is used primarily as transportation, daily or for pleasure/touring, the GT seats are the choice for ease of entry/exit, latitude of drivers position and likely even, long term bolster wear. This is certainly in addition to body type issues as previously stated. Again IMHO.

As a person who prefers the GT seat for my body, especially for our long periods of time where the 20% denser Comp seat foam starts to become “unforgiving” after sitting in it for longer periods of time — as we do 10-12 hour road trip days, the GT seat was chosen, works really well, for our C7 Z06. However, you are so right that on the track with a clone Z at Spring Mountain, especially for its roughly 30 minutes sessions, the Comp seat was perfect for me for that use.

I have yet to meet anyone who does not think that the Comp seat is far better looking. Which leads me to believe that we could have a similar looking C8 seat option with visible carbon fiber as part of it. I would pay nicely for a C8 seat that looks as good as the C7’s Comp seat — and am sure many others would also.

I'm certainly no expert on the GT seat since I have the comp seats in my C7. I've done some long trips with these seats and they were more comfortable than the seats in my TL. The seats in my C4 are crazy comfortable on long drives and are extremely secure and soft compared to the stiffness in the comp seats. Once you find a comfortable setting though as I think i have now, they can certainly be used without issue for long trips.
