  • Road and track performance car of the year winner is ....

before you hit the link to see who the performance car of the year is (hint its the ZR1)

check out the quick zero to sixty times off all these vehicles..l

3.4 was the slowest and it was the alfa quadrophoilio cuv for gods sake...

not sure 460 hp for the c8 is going to cut it this time around for the nextt gen corvette c8

    https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-car...pcoty-testing/

    what say you?

Will the c8 beat these crazyperformance cars tested by road and track for 2019?

Oh wait it was the audi rs5 that accelerated the slowest to. 60 mph in 3.4 seconds...

    holly cow...

today every car in the test was amazing...

the mercedes station wagon e63 amg did zero to sixty in 3 flat...omg!

It’s loud enough at idle to produce a cease-and-desist letter from the homeowners’ association, but you can converse quietly with your passenger on the freeway. Drag racers will like the extra radiators; road racers will like the aero package. It makes big numbers, the way Corvettes always have, but it also conveys the intangible qualities of steering feel and high-speed balance typically associated with smaller, more restrained sports cars. Don’t think of it as a faster Z06; compared with that car, which failed to impress the 2016 PCOTY jury, the ZR1 is a finished piece in all respects. A closer comparison would be to PCOTY 2017’s third-place Grand Sport, which thrilled us with its feedback but occasionally felt underpowered in the fiercest company. The ZR1 redresses that grievance and then some.

Just as important, this imperial Corvette is a product of a team that treats the customer with both affection and respect. Your dream ZR1 may be a stick shift with the cheapo interior and the ZTK aero package. Others surely dream of an automatic, small-wing car with stitched leather on every surface. The beauty of the ZR1 is that both choices are valid, both choices are available, and with a multitude of options in between. We are too often told nowadays that such-and-such a degradation is inevitable, that as enthusiasts we must be prepared to put up with everything from a mandatory P-R-N-D-L pattern to a seven-inch ride height because there is no longer any other sensible option. The Corvette ZR1 is a 755-hp refutation of that assertion, a hammer thrown into Big Brother’s twin-clutch telescreen, a warp-speed expression of stubborn American independence. It is the 2019 Performance Car of the Year.

I thought about buying a ZR1, for they are and always will be an amazing Corvette, but that would have meant no mid engine. After waiting sixty ears, the mid engine won out.

I thought the same, and at the same time seeing Mark putting one into the wall, I was immediately thinking the Mid Engine should be much more sure footed. I definitely feel it is hurting sales. I had plans on purchasing one but will now wait for the ME.

We have two members who just received their new 2019 GS’s, e.g., KenHorse and duckvett. Yet, I have more than a few friends who were originally going to get a 2019, but are also now waiting for the ME.

I’m trying hard to wait for the ME. I think it will be an amazing car if GM gets it right. I wish GM would at least leak the ME is on the way.

All corvettes are cool yet the mid engine corvette should be even more impressive.

Surprising that the ZR1 won...usually in the last year of a generation the press pans the corvette...especially so they can plaster accolades on the next generation when it releases...

this zr1 is so good even road and track couldnt not give the zr1 the win...

                  thats pretty impressive...

the seventh gen is an impressive line of corvettes...

that said...the 8 th gen will be blowing everyones minds

I think we all deserve atta-girls and atta-boys for our having, other than renderings, so little since September 12th. ****, over two months with only one small picture, taken 40 feet away of a ME in a parking lot, during this entire ten weeks.

Yet, we are still faithfully returning, eagerly hoping that the next time we visit that we will have something bold to look at.

We have faith in your Racer, that you will at least wait until the day after the reveal before you seriously consider another model.

Cars & SUV;s are getting ridiculously fast, which is one reason I feel they are cutting into some sports cars sales. Less than 10 years ago to find an SUV or sedan that goes below 4 seconds to 60 was not very common & today its the norm. I have not read the article but what I think makes the ZR1 and some of these cars so great is the crazy amount of power and performance that most of the time is more than their comparable race cars.

You have a large manufacturer building a ridiculous power to weight ratio performance car that is truly dangerous for most drivers with it producing over 700 + HP saying go to the track and by the way, its covered under full warranty. My 15 Z06 had so much power you had to be careful on cold tires at full WOT. I could not imagine the new ZR1, it would be like having a full-grown tiger as a pet, it's not if she will bite you it's just when. I am so happy to be living in these times & we thought the 60;s had all the crazy fast cars. I am very surprised when I call my agent that I am able to get insurance for some of my performance toys.
